A lie cannot become a truth

“How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg.”

~ Abraham Lincoln

And the same rule applies to disease. Calling disease real, doesn’t make it real. It’s still a lie, just like Jesus Christ proved.

  1. Wonderful, Evan! And I had to laugh cuz this can apply to our current U.S. Political Upheaval where it has now become “fashionable” to call lies, “alternative facts.” How tricky and sneaky mortal mind can be in trying to make lies seem like truths!

  2. Such a great and simple quote, I am using it in class today with my high schoolers. As always, you help us by keeping it so clear. Thanks, Evan!

  3. Thank you. Just what I needed. I had been working on this thought for work and this just gives me the foundation to stand firm. Truth is True always.

  4. How funny Bud “it leaves error no leg”.
so clear and helpful your analogy – I also can laugh about that. Thanks a lot Evan!

  5. Thanks Evan. This wise quote from Abraham Lincoln – a helpful link to your statement
re calling disease, or discord, or pain real
    does NOT make it real!

  6. “May feel uncomfortable especially if the untruth is something we know for certain.” This quote from Maximo has prompted me to add a quote from UCLA winning basketball coach John Wooden. “It’s what you learn after you know it all.” We could further elucidate by humbly acknowledging that our spiritual knowing is what we gain when we leave material knowing.

  7. Bevi, you certainly make a good point. We hope we can find another Abraham Lincoln quality person soon.

Tell the truth is one of the many lessons from my Mother, role models, bible classes, and simply observing what happens to people who do not seem to know this basic truth.

We value this Spirit View highly.

  8. So easy to understand, Evan. Thank you, thank you. 2+2=5 never earned a correct answer. I, too, love Abraham Lincoln for holding thought correctly. Few, but the most beautiful words were his Gettysburg Address. We must be grateful always for the truth, and that we are able to be obedient to Truth, God.
