Live governed by divine Mind

November 7, 2025 | 23 comments

What’s governing your thought today?  Mortal mind or divine Mind?

Mortal mind is a demoralized view of reality, rife with reasoning out from a material basis, fearing evil, bowing to disease, and unsure about the future.

Divine Mind is the Mind of God, a Mind that acts intelligently, maintains order, sustains health and guarantees eternal Life, all for our benefit.

Under the government of divine Mind, everything goes better.  Helpful ideas come when we need them.  The comfort of Love is more readily found.  Health is easier to demonstrate.  Life is a positive experience.

Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Man, governed by immortal Mind, is always beautiful and grand” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 246).

It is a beautiful life to be governed by divine Mind.  And the possibilities for progress and advancing development are endless.  They are grand!

Live the Good Life.  Live under the government of divine Mind and keep the mental door shut to mortal mind.  Everything goes better that way.

  1. Thank you Evan for thinking, feeling, and speaking the Truth that can only be manifested joyfully in each passing day. and each creation of Spirit.
Like poet and writer Maya Angelus says when someone asked her why do you say today is the most beautiful day of my life?
She replied: “ Yes today is the most beautiful day of my life
Because I have NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE.”

  2. Evan asks us what will govern our thought today, mortal mind or Divine Mind. Let’s choose Divine Mind, because it tells us the Truth, the good news that All is Well, and mortal mind recites only lies. Why would we want to dwell on lies when we can hear truth direct from dear father-mother God. It feels hard because error shouts loud to distract us, like a bully that has to act tough because it is scared and knows it has no real power. God is a still, small voice. Truth doesn’t need to shout because it is real and has all power.

Letting Divine Mind govern us is good prayer. My daughter shared with me this link to a great Sentinel Watch episode with our Evan from earlier this year on Getting Results from Prayer. Love to All.

    1. This is really lovely, dear Rose and thank you for sharing it with us. Thank You,
too, dear Evan, of course, for this Sentinel Watch message. I love where,
(Evan), you describe the three ways of praying that often are used:
The Pleading prayer – where we plead for what we want in our lives,
The Bargain prayer – If God, you do this, we will do that,
The Grocery List prayer – where we hand over our “list”, like a list to
Santa Claus of what we “want” or “need”. LOL (Haven’t we all done this?)
But the best way is to “Know the Truth” which will set us free. I Love that! as
the best way to pray…Knowing what is True in Mind/God/Love.

      1. Hi Carol, I’m glad that my comments and Evan’s Sentinel Watch were helpful, I loved the way he explains that humility is so important in knowing that we ourselves are not the healers. Blessings and love to you.

    2. Thank you very much dear Rose for posting the wonderful Sentinelwatch with our dear Evan. We had it already posted once here on SpiritView; however it is so very helpful for me , too that one could very well listen to it more often. It really gives us an insight how to pray more effectively, as David Brown asked Evan to do so in this lovely talk. Effective praying and listening to God’s guidance, what we all are surely eager to do, lead to healing and spiritual progress. Thankfully I learned to understand a lot in Christian Science and also that I go on learning more and still more about our God and our spiritual being with and in Him!♡
Dear Evan, thank you very much for this weekend’s SV and your great inspiring talk on Sentinelwatch, Rose posted us here!♡
