If you’re ever tempted to believe an event of the past is holding you back today, you can reverse that feeling and start thriving in the present.
In God’s eyes, you are not a mortal governed by a material past. You are an immortal blessed with eternal spiritual life that is filled with boundless goodness and love here and now.
The past does not rule the present. The past is the past. The present is the present. And the present is God. It is God’s allness here and now to experience to the fullest without limit.
To experience the maximum of God’s goodness today, live in God’s goodness today. Cease clinging to a material past.
Live in the Now!
Live in the spiritual present!
Don’t keep reliving dreams that need to be left behind. Enjoy God’s goodness now, and thrive in the moment you are in.

Thank you, Evan!
Thank you, Evan! I woke up with a little sadness today and worked quickly to replace it with gratitude. Suddenly after breakfast simple text messages with several dear family members started about this and that. Before I knew it an hour had gone by and I felt full of the evidence of God’s love for us in tangible ways. Then I saw Evan’s message about living in the now and realized that’s exactly what had just happened to me. I then shared it with one of my sisters who was looking longingly to past happier times. She was super grateful.
This is beautiful, thank you Peg!
Thank you I needed this up lift
Such wonderful inspiration! Thank you. The graphic above reminds me
of a clock in a retail store, where the numbers were backwards. Folks
would look at it and be confused and say they couldn’t easily tell time
that way. But they are just numbers, aren’t they? Like blinking numbers
on a digital clock …. they only have the meaning that we give to them.
We can not go back and relive the numbers that have already passed
and can not live in the numbers that are to come, but can only live in
the N O W. I love that!!! The expression that “even a broken clock is
right two times a day” – comes to mind. They really are, just numbers,
until we give them power.

Here’s the article that John Tyler refers to, just it case it didn’t open for you:
“Justification” by Ira W. Packard. From the May 10, 1913 issue of The Christian Science Sentinel: https://sentinel.christianscience.com/shared/view/2ddalvfneus?s=copylink
Great article. Thank you for sharing.
Mrs. Eddy said in Retrospection & Intropsection p. 22, “The human history needs to be revised, and the material record expunged.”
Evan says, “The present is God.” And therefore – God is the present. (The present also means the gift). He is only HERE and NOW. We can’t hear or experence Him by rooting around excavating past miseries or even past pleasures, or in letting error pull us into possibilities, worries, human narratives about the future.
I just finished reading an interesting book called Way of the Peaceful Warrior. A story of a young man on a spiritual quest, being tutored by a wise older, mystical sort of teacher. One thing he teaches his student is that the answer to the question, “Where are you?” must always be, “Here,” and the answer to the question “What time is it?” must always be “Now.”
Love this!!!❣️
When I was a child and said to my Mother – “I will
do it tomorrow” – when she asked me to do something
she said “Tomorrow never cones”. It came back to me with this SV, but I never knew where it came from.
I looked it up – hence I found the following:-
Quote by Osho: “Tomorrow never comes, it is always today.”
Tomorrow never comes, it is a process of worrying. Nor is there any yesterday. One is no more, one is not yet. All that is in our hands is the present moment, …
❣️
The “tomorrow” will arrive, then become TODAY! Your Osho quote makes me feel more grounded in TODAY! “Nor is there any yesterday” has never been presented like it is today, and the phrase “It is the process of worrying.” lightens my load TODAY, ” makes more sense than ever before. Thank you Maggie for clarifying what i will communicate to my son, who was turned over to a “home” for adopting children, at 18 months of age. He’s been “tilted” ever since towards feeling abandoned since that experience. ” my prayers some daily good to do is right there, my answer today, for sharing with my son, that he can/could drop the process of worrying about what is past… . . and know “Nor is there any yesterday. That answer heals. . .quoting “All that is in our hands is the present moment.” Thank you for supplying that blessing, which will help him heal from the past.
The past only exists in thought. Stand porter
As it was explained to me once, looking back keeps us ‘stuck’, like Lot’s wife.
Great comments everyone. ❣️
Love all these comments and shared articles, the ideas here are just what I have been needing to know. Thanks Evan and all!
Thank you, Evan.
I recently had a 6500 mile road trip by myself. Many people were opposed to my making the trip, but I found everything working well and had a clear sense that it was right to take the trip.
Along the way, I kept reminding myself that I was “right here” and all was well; God and I had all the space and time we needed “right here.” I didn’t need to worry about how much time I was making. I didn’t need to worry about heavy traffic ahead or in my immediate area because God is all space and there wasn’t limited room in which to move.
I had a joyful trip just clinging to the present moment with God and relishing the abundant beauty surrounding me. Not a single bump, clunk or delay.
Wish I were riding along with you. Thank you for sharing the blessing which you received. I once traveled alone with great success from British Columbia, Canada, all the way to Ocean Beach, California, a suburb of San Diego, CA. I arrived well on time too, to be hired once I landed there. What a glorious road trip and perfect landing, to feel needed immediately after I arrived.
