Live without fear

Is it possible to live without fear?

Here is a short video I produced while hiking in Makoshika State Park in Montana last month with my wife Kathy that answers this question.

While facing the prospect of crossing paths with rattlesnakes in the wilderness, I stopped to share a few thoughts on how to move through life without fear even when the human mind says there are reasons to fear.

We are home now, and I have several more vlogs to share with you from this trip over the coming weeks. I hope you find them helpful.

“Live in God’s presence without fear”

  1. Wonderful thought for each day. With God we have nothing to fear. We receive ONLY GOOD.
Thank you Evan for this very timely post.

  2. How well this ties in with the story of Moses and the serpent in the lesson sermon this week. The fear of the snake was just the illusion of mortal mind! Nothing unlike Gods goodness can invade our thinking. Thank you for sharing with us Evan. You are never on holiday from comforting your “flock”…an inspiration for us all❣️

    1. I too liked the connection with the story in this week’s lesson about God’s wisdom, Moses, and the serpent. While it’s true Evan and many others are never on holiday from oneness with God’s wisdom, thus helping us, I’m starting to glimpse that while dwelling in God’s wisdom and not man’s wisdom the mind is always free, light, refreshed, rejuvenated, inspired, happy, joyous, satisfied and thus in a sense “on holiday.” Pretty cool!

      1. Yes Trista I agree and I love the way you stated this. We can truly have deep rest and ease in God’s loving arms — in the secret place of the Most High. Sounds like a good vacation to me!

  3. Such a wonderful lesson. Live without fear! Today I will know that fear is nothing, doing nothing to no one. Thanks Evan for all your wonderful messages each day.

    ‘Be Thou, O God, exalted high;
And as Thy glory fills the sky,
So let it be on earth displayed,
Till Thou art here and now obeyed.’
    [Hymn 1]

  5. You phrase “fear isolates”. Then the remedy has to be “Love connects.”..
Interesting how fear can even claim to isolate in the guise of protecting us.. Without this knowledge we will make poor choices.
“Animal magnetism fosters suspicious distrust where honor is due, fear where courage should be strongest, reliance where there should be avoidance, a belief in safety where there is most danger; and these miserable lies, poured constantly into his mind, fret and confuse it,..”My: 211:20f
When we form a true connection with infinite Love we are truly safe even if we seem to mortal believe to be in danger.

    1. Thank you John for that quote from Miscellany. The greatest aspect to these ideas is that they can be applied to anything and everything.

    2. Thanks for sharing this quote -helps in recognize manipulation by animal magnetism, to separate bad behavior from true, loved child of God: ‘Father, forgive them for they know not what they do’.

  6. Nothing deadly, no thing or idea! Thank you Evan for this wonderful reminder, so calm, so true, so lovely!

God Bless and thank you, Nan

  7. Powerful healing message, Evan, beautifully presented! Thank you beyond words for all your prayer and work, so generously and joyfully shared, blessing each one, our world, and beyond…

  8. Wonderful inspiration on this beautiful vlog, Evan, Thank You. I like your message in dealing with and being protected by rattlesnakes if they might be encountered. In other words, living in the Now and not projecting fear into the future.
“Jesus once said, ‘Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink’, recognizing God, the Father and Mother of all, as able to feed and clothe man as He doth the lilies” S&H:530 8-12.
Seeing birds in the garden finding nourishment, they don’t worry or are fearful, but trust God’s care to provide for them. Squirrels and chipmunks use wisdom in their way and store up for the winter. I think we can learn from both, to use wisdom and to trust God and not be fearful of any need which may arise.

  9. What a wonderful and inspiring talk, Evan. I will listen to it every morning now. “Fear not” thank you so much.

  10. I greatly appreciate this as I have been spending time regularly in an area where many people have warned me to beware of rattle snakes as myself and my dog go on many outdoor adventures in this area. Each time we go out, I work on ideas of God’s protection and order. Thank you for the ideas on combating fear and being alert, but unafraid.

  11. I went to the dentist yesterday and the subject of Covid came up. W/O even thinking I told the hygienist “I’m not afraid of it.” As the words came out of my mouth I realized how true that was and how no one needs to be afraid of it. I noticed many in the dentist’s office either removed their masks for a time or lowered them when talking. Obviously there was no fear floating around that office! I was grateful for the expressions of freedom from fear.

  12. Thank you Evan. It is much more fun going through life without fear. 🙂

Several weeks ago I received an email from an acquaintance in another country struggling with some fearful statics that also might be seen as rattlesnakes in the path; 95 percent unemployment where she was located because the country mainly runs off tourism and with covid, tourism has pretty much grinded to a halt. People were starting to starve. The situation did not look good to the material senses but I have since heard from her and am grateful at the help her organization has received and the wonderful ideas that are being introduced that may even provide some long term solutions for the area in which she lives, one of the poorest in her country. Had she seen those statics and just thought, this cannot be overcome, she would have been in a different place than she is now. So much gratitude! :):)

  13. Thank you Evan for your daily healing Spiritviews. They are always so helpful. And thanks to all the comments from the readers.

  14. The snake on the garden wall is a wonderful article which includes a healing of a rattlesnake bite. If someone knows hw to post this from JSH, it’s worth reading!

  15. Yes, indeed Evan’s Vlog maches with the Moses story in this week’s lesson, where Moses, after he listened to God , could handle the snake (error) without fear, and it became a stick in his hand on which he could lean.
Thank you very much, dear Evan, for this helpful Vlog reminding us, if we listen to our loving God, we can do everything and live without fear, as God knows no fear and therefore there is non!
How interesting, that we also see a bit of your gorgeous holiday area where you both were hiking. Thank you!☆♡
Am also always thankful for all the inspired comments.
