Seek what lasts

Do you ever feel like you’re coming up empty handed, nothing to show for your efforts?  The remedy is to seek what lasts, that which is never taken from you or withdrawn.

Wisdom, spiritual mindedness, understanding, creativity, love, and their kin, are assets coming from God to you, that are never taken from you.  No one can steal your wisdom!  No one can deny your ability to love.  No event in this world can prevent you from being spiritually minded.

And the cool part is, when we are thriving spiritually the human thrives too.  We see solutions to our problems, we find answers to our questions, we find supply in the face of lack.

The spiritual mindedness we practice opens the doors of understanding to possibilities and opportunities that work well for us.

Seek what lasts.  Seek the goodness of God first and foremost!  Anything you humanly need will follow.

As the Psalmist writes, “The goodness of God endures continually” (Psalms 52:1, NKJV).

  1. “Seek the goodness of God first and foremost!” Very powerful! And certainly lines up my thinking for today!! Thank you for these daily inspirations: precious!

  2. A very endearing message, Evan. Thank you!! A hymn that corresponds with
    seeking what lasts … is #348:
    ” Though mountains may depart from thee, And hills be far removed,
    His kindness shall remain with thee, His covenant be proved.
    O thou afflicted, tossed with doubt, God bids the storm to cease;
    His children shall be taught of Him And great shall be their peace.
    Established in His righteousness, He holds thee free from fear;
    No weapon formed against His own Shall prosper nor come near.
    All tongues that rise condemning thee Are silenced by His word;
    This is thy precious heritage, Thou servant of the Lord”.

    Even if fog or nighttime darkness obscures our view, the view of Spirit is always
    consistent and nothing can take away the spiritual endurance that is continual.
    That is a lovely thought to keep present with us always.
    to hold on to.

  3. ‘’The human capacities are enlarged and perfected in proportion as humanity gains the true conception of man and God’’ S&H 258.
    Thank you Evan for the inspiration and Carol for the hymn.❣️

  4. Thank you Carol for your comment and the suitable inspiring hymnal.
    Thanks Barbara for the passage by Mrs. Eddy from SH p. 258.

    Thank you dearly, Evan for your today’s very inspiring SpiritView! Such a very good advice “Seek what lasts. Seek the Goodness of God first and foremost. Anything we humanly need will follow.” Indeed, only God’s Goodness and His whole wonderful perfect creation is, what lasts eternally. Often God tells us in the Holy Bible, that He is the only One, the only God forever and there is non else!
    For me it is very comforting that Evan tells us, that non can take away from us – not a single spiritual, divine quality our Father-Mother Love bestowed apon each of His beloved children forever!♡

  5. Evan, Thanks for this great reminder. I think there are some interesting examples about seeking what lasts in today´s Sentinel Watch: Healings can be quick with Carolyn Keith.

    1. Oh thanks , dear Harmony for mentioning the Sentinel watch with Carolyn Keith!
      Could anybody please give us the Link to this Sentinal Watch? ❤️

      1. Hi Uta, I’m not sure how to give a link, but can give you a round-about
        way to find the Sentinel Watch. If you go to christianscience . com and
        under Publications and Activities and then Online Magazines, there is
        a sweet kitten and the Sentinel Watch you are referring to is there. I had
        listened to the one on the Daily Lift link today, not realizing until just now
        that that is a different one. That one is good, too, and is at the far bottom
        on the right side.

        1. Thank you very much, dear Carol! With your explanation of the way to this Podcast I would surely find it easily.

          Thanks dear Robert for the link to this SentinelWatch. It containes wonderful very helpful metaphysics with which one can pray also for seeming accidents of older date. It’s really helpful!

          1. Thank you dear Uta, and RobertH for supplying the
            link. The testimony about the sweet kitten was so
            wonderful and lovely that she was adopted, also …
            where she will get a very loving home.
            Prayer for any seeming accident is answered by
            God’s powerful Truth.

      2. Ute:On PrayerThatHeals.org you can click on the Sentinel Watch programs every week. It is a CS Southern California website. You can also subscribe to it for free.

        Thank you Evan for the good thoughts today and yesterday and always!

  6. I love this reminder of a universal truth, that can be shared with many, regardless of their faith. Thank you Evan.
