SHINE concert

October 8, 2024 | 31 comments

For anyone who lives in driving distance of Pasco, Washington, my church is sponsoring a musical celebration, Saturday, October 19, at 7 p.m., which is sure to inspire and delight.

As part of our 100th anniversary this year, my church has brought together many talented musicians who have blessed our services with their piano playing and singing over the last several years.  We have some deep talent to draw from.

I look forward to playing a Rachmaninoff prelude and Brahms lullaby, plus three piano duets with Olin Ensley, who has traveled the country as a concert pianist in earlier years.

Olin and Ellen, our two regular pianists, have some very special music to play, and Molly and Kelli will sing some songs that are sure to lift your spirits and brighten your heart.

“This little light of mine…let it shine,” is the theme for the evening.

It will take place at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pasco, 5304 Burden Blvd.

Everyone is welcome.

    1. How wonderful and exciting this will be, Evan! it’s too bad that The Willows in SoCal is so far away.
Is there any possibility the program will be recorded or will be on Zoom so wi could listen or watch it live?
Maybe you could bring your concert to The Willows?
You’d have an audience of att least 150.

  2. Hi Evan…wishing you, your family, church family and all the visitors the most heartfelt deep wishes for what will, no doubt be an incredible and inspiring concert. I can’t be there in person but will be thinking of you all reflecting and sharing all those beautiful God given qualities in what sounds like such a joyful evening….
Would love to see a recording of parts if not all of your performances.

  4. This sounds wonderful, Evan!

Wish I could attend, but I’m on the east coast. As others have requested, any chance this can be streamed live, or recorded?

Thanks for ALL you do, Evan! For your Practice, for your Blog, for your articles!! We’re all very grateful!!

  5. I’m fully on board with those suggesting to strea it.
I’m aware there can be some licensing rules with music that preclude it, but I hope it’s possible !

  6. I am agreeing with many to please stream or zoom this wonderful presentation. Distance prevents me from physically attending. Thank you for inviting though.

  7. We hope to video the concert, so maybe I’ll have a recording I can share later. That would be fun!

    Let your light shine!

    1. how long is the concert? I live in King County, and wondering about the drive back or staying over.

      thanks,

  8. What a fine idea to celebrate your Church centennial with a musical concert. And you, Evan,
will contribute Rachmaninoff and Brahms. These are two of my favorite composers, and
I hope to see the video if and when one is made of the event. Very best wishes,
    David Cornell, Boise, ID

  9. That would be wonderful to hear or see as a video for those who can not travel or do not
have access to zoom. Thank you dear Evan for thinking to include us in what your
church is sharing. Look forward to seeing like the inspiring ones you’ve shared on your trips.
