  1. Evan, you and Will Rogers pointed out just the right reminder to me at just the perfect time! 🙂 (I have been struggling with both my patience AND what then erupts into a bad temper…)
    So, this nails it! Thank you! (both!)

  2. Yes, it is a loving reminder to stay calm, also in difficult situations. Thank you Evan!!
    In former times as a CS nurse I have been in similar experiences as Chris mentions. And afterwords I was always deeply unhappy.

    Today through more praying and loving, my experiences are much more harmonious and healthy. But I think we must continously watch and pray in order to reflect the healing qualities of our dear Father-Mother God more constantly – working on it 🙂

    What a very refreshing and lovely picture – we actually are already in heaven and loving!

  3. I was thinking this morning as I am waking up, lying in bed, to start the day right and pray with whatever comes into my head. It was something I used to do, waking up and going to bed. Beginning rightly does help with the challenges of the day.

  4. For years I seemed to be the recipient of someone who flew into rages. Sometimes it was quite frightening. Other times I wanted to react which wasn’t a wise thing to do. I was counseled, “A gentle answer turneth away wrath” from the Bible. It made a huge difference in my thinking and in the situation. I felt strength from God, and it helped me to see that I was not a “victim.”

  5. Although not a very scientific solution, I’d just walk away or leave the house depending upon the circumstances. I just refused to enter into an argument. I didn’t even want to observe one. I’ve gotten off a bus when another passenger was arguing with the bus driver. That was years ago.

    Now I’m also praying to love more after making my departure.

  6. PERFECT! CERTAINLY HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME BAD LANDINGS! BUT NOW THROUGH THE STUDY OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE, I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE SOFT LANDINGS.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REMINDING ME TO CONTINUE GENTLY!

  7. I’m reminded of a beloved hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal #315

    “Speak gently, it is better far
    To rule by love than fear;
    Speak gently, let no harsh word mar
    The good we may do here.

    Speak gently to the erring ones,
    They must have toiled in vain;
    Perchance unkindness made them so;
    O win the them back again.

    Speak gently, ’tis a little thing,
    Dropped in the heart’s deep well;
    The good, the joy that it may bring,
    Eternity shall tell.”

    So calming, so comforting, so full of love…

  8. As a teacher, I use the above hymn, “speak gently” often. There is so much more power in a gentle response. It is far more effective than a harsh or angry response which is usually tuned out and causes walls to be put up.
