How do you Spend Your Time

December 19, 2013 | 11 comments

For every minute you are angry

you lose sixty seconds of happiness.

~~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

There is no law that says you have to stay angry. Anger is not an obligation. It is a limitation.

Choose to love generously, stay free and live joy.

  1. So valuable, the simple reminder to watch thoughts (and actions) to keep them in
line with who we really are: divine Love’s expression.

The touching photo says it all, too!

Here’s to you, Evan, and all your readers/commenters, as we celebrate together the ever-appearing light of Truth in human consciousness!

I’ve been helped a lot by this site, this year and past years. Thank you!!

  2. The photographer must have waited a long time to get this shot. Well done to him!

The cat is so sincere in its purpose. It must love that dog very much, and as for the dog, he is taking it all in good faith.

    Anger, what’s that?

    1. This blog is such a wonderful blessing for our community. Thank you so much, Evan, for your ceaseless efforts towards helping us all to lean on the sustaining infinite for our proper sustenance. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  3. SO grateful for your gift comments, short or long. They are instructive, inspirational, often humorous (Yes, God does have a sense of humor!) and appreciated.
    Blissings and blessings!

  4. Not only do you lose 60 seconds of happiness which isn’t as grave as this; One loses his self control, the ability of listening to the still small voice since anger blocks it out, then one is really in a mess. In the Bible, I paraphrase; “That which I should not do, I do. And that which I should do, I don’t do.”

  5. Love that quote. I have run into 2 classic examples of people who are at odds with one another. I hope I can pass on that quote . I know that anger doesn’t even feel good so why do they insist on holding on to it? Thanks for all your daily support. I love coming here each day! Merry Christmas.

  6. Thanks Evan! A great daily reminder that anger hurts the person being angry much more than anger’s object! And LOVE doesn’t have a hint of anger in it. BUT, I am suspicious of the cat being so friendly. Could it be that he knows Christmas is around the corner and trying to cozy up for a possible present?
