With all the publicity about the current measles outbreak in the USA as well as weather related health fears that pop up this time of year, it’s a wise step to know one’s spiritual immunity to disease.
You have built-in spiritual immunity to all disease. But it requires prayerful watchfulness, alertness to Truth and spiritual mindedness to demonstrate that immunity and remain clear of contagion.
Disease does not get into the body unless it first gets into the mind governing the body, either unconsciously or consciously. So, it’s metaphysically paramount that one stand mental guard against accepting suggestions of disease as real.
“Stand porter at the door of thought,” Mary Baker Eddy wisely counseled.
So, stay alert to spiritual truth! Know your spiritual immunity! Understand it for yourself and for others.
Your spirituality is your immunity.
Spirituality is spiritual mindedness, a clear mental picture of the immortal man of God’s creating living in an atmosphere of divine Love where no germ, bacteria or virus can take over and sap health.
Spiritual mindedness is a steeled mental fortress that no doubt, fear or worry can penetrate and cause grief.
Spiritual mindedness is an unwavering understanding of man’s status as a permanently healthy child of God.
Spiritual mindedness is not a sponge soaking in mortal fears, but a Sun-Soul radiating peace and love toward all around.
Spiritual mindedness is protection from contagion. It neutralizes fear, disempowers disease and keeps mind and body healthy.
Indulge a healthy dose of spiritual mindedness today and keep yourself healthy and well! And bless your neighbor with the same understanding. You will be in a better and safer place.

Thank you Evan! Being on a plane and hearing someone cough used to make all sorts of fearful ideas of contagion fill my thought. So before a recent plane flight I spent an hour or so looking up the word “contagion” in Science and Health and deeply thinking about each statement I read. That was the best hour I ever spent because on a plane flight last week when I heard someone cough there was literally no more fear. Zero! Prior to this experience if you’d have asked me if I understood what Christian Science teaches about contagion I would have sworn I did. But I guess I had more to learn. I also never expected the studying I did to *prevent* my fear of contagion. I had only expected it to help me *defend* against the fear when it manifested itself. So my point here is to encourage others, if they detect even the slighted fear of contagion in their thought, to take a few minutes to study what Christian Science teaches about contagion until they understand thoroughly why they have nothing to fear. This blog today is a great starting point for that sort of study. Not only will that study help you defend against thoughts of contagion that appear in your thinking…it can also result in preventing those thoughts from appearing in the first place!!!

A great teacher imparts all that he knows to his students so they can excel in their chosen field. We all know Evan is a great teacher. I don’t feel he will ever be out of a job though; there are always lost sheep coming to the fold and we all have sooo much to learn. I appreciate the teaching that goes on throughout the year and not just at Association. Also appreciate the teaching done by all practitioners and teachers in writing for the periodicals. Thank you for this. I have been pondering the current theory of “herd immunity,” which is focused on vaccination to achieve its hoped for results. I discern we can embrace the ideal of universal immunity on the sounder basis of man’s spiritual immunity.
I’d like to hear any other guidance you might share re the current agitation on this theme.
Many do not realize that having a medical vaccination causes the very disease that one is trying to protect from. God immunizes and this is a fact. We are spiritually and scientificulty immunized already as God’s expression. The schools doesn’t teach this, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE does.
