The final word

August 5, 2025 | 13 comments

If you’ve ever received a word from someone that brought bad news, and you were tempted to get depressed about what you heard, keep in mind that what you heard doesn’t have to be the final word.

If what you heard portends something bad, then its changeable, for evil is not the power it claims to be.  It can be overturned with the love and goodness of God.

Bad situations can be improved into better situations.  Healing can happen.

Seek out God’s Word—the truth of spiritual being, for in this reality, you’ll find the spiritual insight you need to triumph over any evil before you and find something better.

Let God’s Word be the final word.  It’s filled with good news.

  1. Dear Evan and Spirit View family, I rarely write, but I’m inspired by all that Evan shares, and then the bonus of the sharing of the SV family.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to live fully, what Evan has shared in today’s lift. Someone I work with acted in a way that was startling in its aggression over a decision I’d made (which came through prayer). I was disturbed by this eruption and second guessed if what I was strongly guided to do had not been the right call. I turned to God in prayer and was guided to speak to a practitioner. I wanted to do only what was right with God as it would bless me and all others concerned. The practitioner did not tell me what to do, but we saw it through different lenses so I could look at it fully and wholly. We decided to put it all in God’s care, knowing this decision could only bless if it was right and I’d have the courage to do all it took to do the right thing if it wasn’t. As I prayed, leaving all in His care, loving those concerned purely and completely, wanting to live in our spiritual reality, as God’s own pure and obedient ideas, I received an email from this individual late into the night, that was thoughtful, loving and graciously accepting my decision. My gratitude was immense, as this was important to me, but greater was the joy that came knowing that giving it all to God and humbly waiting on Him could only bring peace and blessings for all.
Thank you Evan for reinforcing the power of standing in the Light of God’s knowing and leaving it all to His care.

    1. What a wonderful demonstration Farida.
There is a very helpful editorial in the 11th August Sentinel
‘’In what you’re doing right, rejoice!’’ ByMark Swinney.
I’m sorry I can’t give a link but if someone here can I think it illustrates the certainty of ‘’the final word’’

Thank you Evan for all your inspirational guidance.❣️

    2. Thank you for sharing this experience. Farida. A truly, wonderful demonstration and example of what unfolds when we stand well back, and humbly acknowledge God to be in charge of everyone and everything.

    3. Thank you Farida for taking the time to share this healing with all of us. It is so helpful for others to hear of how we prayed and how things resolved, What you said about putting all in His care is so right on target. It sometimes requires many attempts and much humility, as we let go, then seem to take it back again as the mortal thinking tries to lure us back, until we fully release all to God’s wisdom and care.

It’s like the popular saying ‘Let Go and Let God,’ which has filtered into the popular culture nowadays, also the concept of putting a struggle or challenge “into the God box”– meaning put down the mental struggle for a while (some people actually write it on paper and put it into a special box) and let God work on it and trust that He will. I’ve heard that these ideas are from the 12 Step addiction recovery programs, which are all about surrendering to a higher power.

    4. Farida, you “opportunity” explained in SPIRIT VIEW yesterday gave me insight and hope that all will be well with a family member, who struggles with doing the “right thing” and who suffers the dire consequences after he does the “wrong thing”. Correcting my false view of what has happened, was corrected with your explanation of “doing the right thing”. Seeing the “right thing, which would bless all, if it was right, and giving me courage to do all it took “to do the right thing, if it wasn’t,” gave me immense hope that prayer, then “leaving all in His care, ” swept away the barrier to learn and listen and pray to do the right thing, thoughtfully, lovingly and graciously, by “giving it all to GOD and humbly waiting on HIM” has led me to follow a higher thought, to give up the human will, but devote all gratitude what is right in the growth of grace, Truth and LIFE. Graciously THANK YOU.

    1. An inspiring article Patty in TN, thank you so much for sharing it! 🙂
This article didn’t open fully on my laptop, but opened on my iPhone as a “one free per month” article (yay!). So I’ll attach a shareable link for those that may not be able to access it without a subscription:
“In what you’re doing right, rejoice!” by Mark Swinney, from the August 11, 2025 issue of The Christian Science Sentinel:

      1. Thanks to J and Patty in TN and BarbaraUK for pointing us toward this excellent article on acknowledging our own goodness as God expresses Himself through us, and as we see that same goodness in others.

        Two quotes from article,
-“As God’s image, each of us, without exception, is designed and created for the purpose of reflecting and demonstrating God’s infinite goodness.”
-“One of Mrs. Eddy’s early students recalls her saying, “I am different from other mortals in many respects, one of them being that I more frequently get out of God’s way” (We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Expanded Edition, Vol. 2, p. 531).”

  2. Thank you very much dear Patty and. J. for that wonderful, helpful article by Mark Swinney!!

Thanks a lot, dear Evan for your today’s SpiritView .
I pray to understand the reality of my spiritual being more and more.
However what I luckily do understand already in CS is that man is one with God. And through this oneness we express God’s goodness, ergo, God’s word can naturally be the final word for us. filled with good news – how wonderful – thanks so very much, Evan, teaching us to see God’s great Love for us , as His precious child!♡
