Do you ever wonder what to do next?
Maybe you’re wondering where to apply for a job, how to get on top of your bills, where to live, how to get along better with others, how to stay healthy, or how to find purpose in life. Whatever the looming issue is that begs an answer, you don’t have to solve the problem alone. God is with you. God is speaking to you and letting you know the best course to pursue.
The purpose of prayer is to get thought settled down into a peaceful place where you can hear the divine guidance and respond.
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in fear, worry and doubt that we start to feel isolated from God and unable to hear any divine direction. But this is a lie about your state of mind. There is one Mind, the divine Mind, and you reflect its calm demeanor that is able to sort out issues to a good end. You have the God-given capacity to think clearly, discern wise guidance and act competently.
The voice of wisdom speaks to you!
This voice is often a very quiet nudging in the background of consciousness that seems barely perceptible to the human sense, but when you demand to hear what it has to say and know that you can hear its direction, you will find it and hear it. It’s there! Never doubt it. The big question is, “Am I listening?”
In explaining God’s ever-present help, Isaiah wrote,
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it, Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” Isaiah 30:21, NKJV.
Listen, and you will hear.
This is so perfect and helpful. Thank you so very much.
I am listening. I needed this reminder as I am working on healing of some difficulties I am dealing with concerning material physical challenges.
This is so very helpful Evan.
In my world, it comes at the exact moment of dealing with some conflict.
Please always know how much you are appreciated.
This View of Spirit and ongoing Voice of Wisdom continues to help with my clarity.
It’s my daily “go to”.
With gratitude!
Susan
If at any time you’re so bogged down with what evil thoughts are telling you, never, ever let yourself be led to where you can lose all your mental faculties which leads to mantality breakdowns such as ALZEIMER DISEASE. Then you’re really in a hole by separating yourself from God completely. The insidious questions by the medical profession; “Do you know your name. Do you know today’s date. What day is today?” Are those that can get you in trouble for they test God’s intelligence and how can the lesser (mortality) test the greater (God)?
I agree with Susan. This blog is like Miracle Grow for spiritual growth! Thank you very much Evan and a big thanks to all of the contributors to this blog too!
A few things I’ve learned in regard to the voice of wisdom are:
1) sometimes the act of praying and hearing the voice of wisdom are not in sync. So if after praying about something you haven’t heard an answer, have no fear or doubt. You might pray at 8 a.m. today and not hear the voice of wisdom until 3:30 p.m. today…or 3:30 p.m. ten days from now. But if you are consistent in knowing the truths Evan explains in this blog, you will hear it.
2) we sometimes want to hear the voice of wisdom before we really need an answer to some question. I’ve learned recently to just trust I will hear the guidance I need when I need it and each time an answer has come at the point it was needed…which has sometimes been after I thought I needed to receive an answer…but of course I was wrong and God was right…it came at the perfect time after all.
Good points Brian! Thanks for sharing.
Brian’s response reminded me of a poem I pray with daily and just love:
“Patience” by Sharon Huntington (Sentinel, December 12, 1997)
Patience is not in
waiting for good to happen.
Patience is knowing that
all of God’s goodness unfolds
at exactly the right time.
We may not know when “the right time” will come, but can trust that it will. “ALL things work together for good to them that love God.” We just need to obey the first Commandment and have no other Gods and trust the only God.
ok, this is the best post you’ve ever written for my immediate understanding!!!!!!!!!!!
I so appreciate everyone’s response. Thank you.
It’s very helpful for me to stay mentally grounded in the NOW!
The line in the Lord’s’ Prayer ” Give us this day our daily bread; ” along with the spiritual interpretation (from S&H )…”Give us grace for to-day; feed the famished affections; ” helps keep me calm while holding the expectancy of GOOD in my thought!
Mind knows and you will see it!
Thank you Evan for your unselfish sharing.
On the audio bible lesson I really took to mind and heart the simple prayer at the closing.
“Praise the creator”
A quick reorientation
“amidst a troubled angry sea I see Christ walk
and come to me and tenderly, divinely talk”.
