Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
When your thought is planted deep into the omnipresence of God, your life is drawing upon the infinite resources of divine Love for help in whatever work God has inspired you to do.
There may be a drought of success around you in a worldly sense of things, but your sense of things will continue to flourish, inspired by fruitful ideas coming from divine Mind that prosper your work.
The waters of divine Love never dry up. They are abundant, eternal. To those who draw upon them, there is no lack. “Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
This is a wonderful concept to stay with at this time of mortal mind turbulence in world affairs .
Thank you Evan ——
This week’s Responsive Reading has a great prayer for the war in Ukraine…
Romans 12:10-12
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love: in honour preferring one another;
Be of the same mind one toward another.
…as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Amen
Yes, beautiful and timely Bible lesson. ❣️
Thank you.
Thank you, Evan.
We are given dominion over “the earth” which is, I say, what we recognize with material senses, which we do with mortal mind. In short, God gave us power to control our thoughts. Exercise this dominion, and be vigorous about it !
Remove those thoughts that you once perceived as mountains.
p.s. Dominion means COMPLETE control.
I understand the word, “dominion” in its original text and definition meant “protection”. It makes wonderful sense that we should protect, and not dominate , what has been provided through earth and God’s creation. Ideas are to be protected and nourished. Recall from S/H, “Mind is the source of all”.
that is an interesting definition of dominion, Jay. Nevertheless I think we must exercise
and dominate evil, because it is not part of man’s true being and does not glorify God.
One of the definitions I found was after
the question: ” What is the scriptural meaning of dominion? ” The answer written is:
“In the first of the two creation stories in Genesis (Genesis 1:1-2:3), God gives man dominion over his creation (Genesis 1:26,28). For many people of faith, these verses have justified a mastery-over-nature orientation: dominion is seen as the right to dominate and to possess absolute control over the entire earth.”
Thank you Jay for sharing your thoughts.
Dominion is supreme authority, how one exercises it, or, wields it, reveals one’s degree of alignment with Mind.
I like your last statement. “Remove those thoughts that you once perceived as mountains.”
By knowing the allness of God and hence the power that that knowledge gives us over evil.
Hi again, thoughts are key. To success or to failure. Mary Baker Eddy wrote continuously on the theme.
To paraphrase Jesus, with great license, wash your thoughts before you wash your hands. Mental cleanliness is next to Godliness…I just got the meaning of that! All glory to God, that wasn’t my thought, it just popped in while I was sharing something.
Evan says, “The waters of divine Love never dry up. ….To those who draw upon them, there is no lack.” It reminded me of Mrs. Eddy’s statement at the beginning of Science and Health, “To those leaning on the Sustaining Infinite, today is big with blessings.”
The translation of today’s verse from Jeremiah is sweet in that it talks of trees as not being worried about or bothered by seeming material conditions. We too can be freed from worrying about seeming material conditions as we learn that our Source, God good, is taking wonderful care of us.
Love this, Thankyou All.

I love this quotation from Jeremiah and have taken it one step further. First of all, it really resonates with me because I live in the desert and know about times of drought. A tree that grows near a source of water will survive in times of drought because of it’s deep roots.. I liken “deep roots” to our teachings at a young age which form a firm foundation and hold us up. I’d like to think that our children and others can rely on those “deep roots” which are always there and will inspire, and help us and them in times of need.
Thank you Evan for this spiritview! It’s always what I need to hear at the time.
Thanks much, Evan and commenters.
OMG. This translation has made clear to me (for the first time) what this citation means. Love it!
