Truth and love will prevail

“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”

~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

  1. “…unarmed truth and unconditional love ….” as the final victors! Our master Christian, Christ Jesus, led the forefront on these supreme virtues. How important to recognize and honor modern-day individuals, such as MLK, who’ve practiced and lived the Golden Rule too. Thank you.

  2. Truth based on God’s laws are almost impossible to accept fully and holy my modern mortal standards, but it must be accepted in order to protect from complete anialation of life on this earth.

  3. For some other inspiring and thought-provoking quotes by Dr. King, check out today’s Your Daily Lift, “Martin Luther King, Jr. Day” with Maryl Walters. I was happy to learn there that the words Evan has shared with us were spoken upon Dr. King’s acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Thanks again, Evan!

  4. Thank you Evan ! Wisdom such as this can never be repeated too often. They have a singular ring to me, in the aftermath of the recent tragic events here in France.
There is another quote from Booker T. Washington that I have kept in the forefront of my thought in these past days, here it is: “I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.”
“Though the cause of evil prosper,
    Yet ’tis Truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold,
And upon the throne be wrong,
Yet that scaffold sways the future
    And behind the dim unknown
    Standeth God within the shadow
Keeping watch above His own.” –
    (Hymn #258)

  5. Such a powerful antidote, from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, to an earlier lament:
“Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and unguided men.”
(from a collection of sermons- Strength to love, published 1963).
Amen! … and Amen!! to “..unarmed truth and unconditional love..”

  6. Thanks for sharing this wonderful truth. It is so needed with the events that are taking place in today’a world.
