What do you expect?

When you pray for healing, what do you expect to happen?

Some people who pray are clear on what they expect to happen. They expect the truth to appear and the problem to disappear, and all mental force is applied to this end with positive results.

Others pray, though, and doubt the outcome. They have more faith in the problem than they do the solution. They may know what the truth is, say the right words, and voice expectation, but in their heart, they have more faith in the trouble remaining than in the solution appearing.

So, it’s vitally important to be clear on your expectations, for you see what you expect.

Mary Baker astutely wrote, “Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously” Science and Health, p. 392.

What are you admitting to be true? If you’re not sure, you can tell by looking at the results you presently face. If you don’t like what you see, you can change it by improving your expectations.

Expectations must be grounded in more than human hope, desire or passionate will, though. Healing expectations are based on immortal Truth that admits absolutely no power to evil or disease.

To experience more of God’s health and harmony today, admit its presence. Admit only the spiritual truth about yourself as God’s image. Refuse to admit any suggestion to the contrary!

Expect to see solutions coming from God. Expect to see trouble melt away as you move all faith into God’s omnipresent good. Expect the body to heal as you admit that you reflect the one body of Spirit which is always in perfect health. Expect to be well because God made you well and keeps you that way! Expect good and behold it as the only reality of your being with no room, space or place for disease of any kind.

Expect what God knows.

  1. Yes! Well said Evan. I have found persistence, clear thinking and expectation of good to be the key to healing and progress. There simply can be not room for any ideas except seeing and expecting God’s ceaseless and abiding love to bring the light of Truth and result in healing, spiritual growth and continuing confidence in the power of God’s goodness and power. Putting all material so called laws and doubts out of thought and mind and filling our prayers and daily thoughts with the truth of well being, health and practice as Jesus did shows us the way!

  2. Thank you, Evan! Something about the word, “Confidence”…… I know I need to admit more of it into my thought and actions. Part of a quote from Science & Health – “………confidence in God as all……” Today my expectation is to have more Confidence in God as All and in the Healing power of Christian Science Treatment!

  3. Thou I have doubts, Thou I admit that I might fail, I keep plugging on based on past experience that mortal fears can’t materialize when armed with a slight understanding of the TRUTH that heals”
