Here’s a well written article on what to do with the outcome of the upcoming presidential elections in the USA.

  1. Thank you Evan, so calming. That article assures me of Gods completely being in charge of the whole election and of the right outcome of it! We did know that before, but now it is fully clear.
Naturally also we outside USA are praying with all Americans for the righteous result God is in charge!

  2. Thanks Evan! Yesterday I was reading a editorial in which it was predicted that if one of the two leading candidates for President of the U.S. is elected, the policies this person has advocated would lead to an economic recession. It then occurred to me that sometimes it appears that bad events are happening in the world, but when those same events are viewed from an historical perspective it is possible to see that those events were ultimately a catalyst for good. So I concluded that even if the person that was the subject of this editorial is elected, and even if the predictions in this editorial come true, perhaps those events are part of some greater plan that is needed to force human consciousness to change for the better (i.e. not that God is ever the cause of bad things happening…but that sometimes God’s plan of good for His creation appears through distorted material sense as coming about as a result of some bad event causing us to wake up and discard the error in our thinking and thus realize the good that has always been there).

This all occurred yesterday morning, but I continued mulling over the idea that sometimes it seems to take a catastrophe to force people to change for the better and would I have to suffer as a result. But then an angel thought whispered that even if the election results in some upheaval in society, I am perfectly safe in God. Or as Psalms 23 puts it:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

There was a time when I would read those words but I didn’t really believe the truth of this statement 100%. But through spiritual growth I’ve come to realize that I can never, ever, be in any situation where God, Love, is not with me and protecting me. So whatever happens in the election can never result in anything that can separate me from that love of God. What a wonderful truth!

    1. Brian thank you for these ideas, filled with insight. We walk a fine line of affirming good while walking thru a world filled with discord. In the words of the highly respected Christian Science lecturer, Edward A. Kimball, affirming the good is not good enough…Humans need to get into the “mud” at least knee deep before seeing it for what it is then completely obliterate it as we apply Knowledge of God and Truth. Of course this was written in 1909 and he was standing close to the source of the flame of our revelator. Thought was a little more focused and writings on CS more meaty than some of the Christian Science Lite we see so much of today…

  3. This is wonderful! Let ME fly the airplane. God IS being God, and we can trust Him. Always. In affairs, great and small. I find this article very comforting. Thanks a million.

  4. Thanks, Evan and Max! “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord (the consciousness of Love) forever.”

  5. This war of ideas has been a long time in the making. I feel that mortal mind is presenting itself to be destroyed. Confirming who is truly always in charge is the idea I cling to.

  6. Last week’s lesson comforted me so much. It expressed that Truth is in operation, constant, and Truth will uncover all error and destroy it. No lie can exist and it will eventually but always be brought to the surface so we can see it for what it really is. Every line I read about Truth brought me peace.
The cumulative Truths have and are continuing to be revealed to all of us.
We just need to be vigilant and accept it. Love doesn’t give 6% of its good to mankind. It gives 100% !!! That’s the Truth!

  7. Thanks so much, Evan, and to all who have commented. How comforting it is to know that God is ALWAYS in control regardless of the situation.

  8. Thank you Brian for your thought too. (=

Also loved this statement from Max Lucado’s article: “select prayer over despair.”
