Don’t look back

July 3, 2015 | 6 comments

Are you pursuing a worthy goal that others are nay-saying? Is it a goal you know you need to seek because it’s part of a bigger plan working out in your life? Yet, all kinds of questions and doubts nag your attention, maybe even friends are giving you a hard time trying to stop you and make you give up?

If so, here’s a Bible verse you can tuck into prayer-bank to prop up your resolve and keep your vision clear.

“I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”

~ Philippians 3:14, MSG

  1. I love the Message translation of Phil 3:14! Off and running and no looking back. Just reading that made me want to go take a run! Of course we’re talking about much more than an exercise event! Off and running in the Kingdom of heaven on earth is beckoning us all!Happy trails everyone! As always a big thanks to Evan for continued inspiration.

  2. A simple thought, but one that has deep possibilities. Run the race through God’s good grace. Eddy states,” a little more grace, a few words tenderly …….” no room to look back for there is nothing there to hinder our forward movement. No fear. This could go on and on.

  3. Thanks, Evan! Good One! Yes, I just recently had to be firm with someone and break away from the icky, sticky sensualism of animal magnetism and state the course of my race clearly: “Christian Science and my relationship with God are the most important thing in my Life.” Amen! Happy Fourth and Running the Straight Race, Everyone!!

  4. Going forward and not looking back hasn’t a material conitation but a spiritual one. Each spiritual truth propels one for understanding the next higher spiritual truth and never to return to the material lie just overcome.

  5. A very timely message as my life’s journey is taking me on a new experience. It’s so important not to look back. Mary Baker Eddy’s poem “Mother’s Evening Prayer” especially the 3rd verse, has been an inspiration where it says “loss is gain” – I’m holding to the thought that I have lost nothing and gained much. How grateful I am for the comfort and guidance Christian Science has given me.

  6. Bevi, laurel echoed my prayer
hard choices have called me to make a change to stand up and walk away from moral idiocy.
Mrs Eddy states that to be a strong claim of animal magnetism.
Happy to be free and pain will flee as dark before the light
    Thank you for continuing help
