Push back against evil

April 5, 2017 | 18 comments

Don’t be a pushover for evil! When assaulted by dark-side arguments, be alert and refuse to mentally lie down, rollover and assume a position of helplessness. Resist. Push back!

As a child of God, you have spiritual dominion, power and authority to stay healthy, live in peace, and demonstrate supply. Any suggestions to the contrary are evil and need to be resisted so they can be overcome.

If mortal mind whispers into your inner ear, “You might get sick.” Don’t entertain the notion. Resist it! Get it out of thought as fast as you would eject a robber from your home.

If you are the audience for a disgruntled co-worker with a demoralized attitude that starts to wear down your good spirit and cast a pall in your thinking, resist the inclination to go in the same direction. Push back on the darkness. Refuse to go negative. Affirm God’s allness. See the good to be grateful for.

If the carnal mind argues for lack in your life, push back. Push back harder than the lie would push on you. Straighten thought out with the truth that God’s allness includes abundance and supply. Be clear that there is enough good to go around for you and your neighbor, and that you can demonstrate this spiritual reality.

If you feel separated from God, push back. Don’t buy it. Remember that it’s impossible to be separated from God. You would not be able to blink your eyes, sit up, take a walk or read without God. God is your All. God is what gives you existence, life, being, ability, consciousness, and everything else that constitutes your individuality. Be grateful for the obvious good, and you’ll find more to be grateful for. Refuse to let the naysayer blind you to your oneness with the Divine.

Suggestions of disease, lack, conflict and loneliness seem to come in a myriad number of forms. But we must be wiser than them all. Just because a suggestion is made, doesn’t mean we must accept it. If it’s evil, we can resist it and defeat it.

Be quick to push back on any foreboding proposition you do not wish to manifest in your life. Be clear on your divine right to live healthy, strong and free.

As Paul wrote, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7, KJV. And translated another way, “Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper” James 4:7, The Message.

  1. This is so good. It’s not always easy to stay alert to these wrong subtle thoughts when they come sneaking in, but we need to be alert and push them back, as Evan puts it so so well. I love the Message translation from James and the thought of the Devil scampering off!

  2. Thank you so much, Evan – it is very uplifting and helpful.
Paul also said ” I am born free”, and that therefore means that I can only live
healthy, strong and free, which is my divine right. Love that; its so good.

  3. Thanks so much for sharing. I appreciate the inspiring and practical explanation of how to actively resist evil (aka anything that is not good) in our thought or experience.

  4. Your messages are so practical and on target. Thanks a million for helping us keep our thoughts aligned with the Christ. Sadly it seems we can be derailed so easily if we are not alert to error.thanks for keeping us alert!

  5. Such great thoughts. Thank you! Like a candle or light that is switched on in a dark room, there is no way the darkness can remain. It just disappears. The light (of Truth) replaces what seems to be the doom and gloom of darkness that would try to creep into our thoughts.

  6. “Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper” James 4:7, The Message.

  7. Evan, Love all the messages you send almost daily, this one, to me, is outstanding. I too, like the idea of a little red imaginary devil scampering off. If any of our readers have found other good CS articles that they “go to” on this topic please share. Thanks Evan and the Spiritview community..
