Even though you aver that the material senses are indispensable to man’s existence or entity, you must change the human concept of life, and must at length know yourself spiritually and scientifically.
~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 359
What do you spend the majority of your time doing? Studying the body, worrying about the body, planning for the body, or studying spiritual truth, learning about God, and enjoying all the benefits that come from living true to your healthy happy spiritual life? Hopefully, the second option!
Material sense is not imperative. It’s a distraction from spiritual sense.
Let spiritual sense dominate your attention, and the realities of spiritual life with God are seen to be your realities. The physical sense of things fades away, and heavenly existence takes over.
Know yourself spiritually. It’s the happiest healthiest way to live.
Thank you, Evan! Just what I needed this morning. Spot on!
“Nosce te Ipsum”- Know thy true self.
My old school motto.
Thank you Evan…my first thoughts on waking today were
Gods day, ….Gods way..
So, your post is just what I need….
Happy Day All
This is an interesting if not essential question to answer to oneself. What makes you a spiritual person. Listing and knowing that it fits is so crucial to one well being and to those around us. Knowing something intellectually is not the same thing as knowing intuitively. Consequently, the question that really needs our attention and effort . Know thyself.
As always, so appreciated.
Thank you… “ Material sense is not imperative. It’s a distraction from spiritual sense.”
This pairs so well with citation 3, Pg 85: quotes, Both Jew and Gentile, may have acute corporeal senses, but mortals need spiritual sense!“
This beautiful scenery above with the fading off of the mountains brings
to mind what someone had shared here about there not really being a
sunset or sunrise, as the sun always is. It is just our Perception of what
we can see, that limits our thinking to only the horizon. It is the Truth that
sets us free and brings peace Now. Today’s Daily Lift, as well as today’s
lovely message here reminds me of a photo that had gone viral of an eagle
sitting on it’s nest, in a snowstorm where all that could be seen was it’s
head, as it was surrounded by snow. Like our Father/Mother God shelters
us with Love, this dear eagle never gave up on trying to save it’s little one,
despite what the cold, physical surroundings Seemed to be.
Thank you Evan. This is well received by me today. I tend to go further in checking into others’ physical complaints and next thing you know I’m researching so called ailments…
In my past I studied anatomy and physiology for the line of work I was in. I allowed it to fascinate me.
I am now grateful I stopped at my holistic studies and didn’t go further into the medical route. And I am blessed to have been given the understanding of Christian Science and my spiritual studies.
The quest for understanding continues…
Moments like this and what is shared is so so helpful❣️
I saw a friend from the past was given a diagnosis and he shared it on Facebook; I was about to link up the medical diagnosis he was given and switched gears to come here to SpiritView.
I’m glad I did.
Thank you all❣️
Thank you so much. If I can replace feeling lonely with feeling God’s presence it is all the reality check I need. Today is a demanding one for me, bring it on!
Rhondda
And it’s obvious the word link should be look. :))
Thank you Evan. Knowing oneself spiritually brings peace, joy, happiness, harmony and more.
Someone who was very closed to me passed on. I cried aloud every morning within the first week of his passing. Towards the end of that week I got up, went outside to start crying aloud, but I heard birds singing, and as I looked at their direction I saw trees, the sun was rising from that direction also. A thought from within me said, “nothing has changed. These birds have been singing even when this man was alive. The trees have been there, the rising sun has continued the same. Nothing has changed. He is living on.” I felt a kind of peace that the human tongue cannot really express. That was the end of mourning for me. Grieve was over. Spiritual sense brought peace and joy.
Dear Grace thank you kindly for sharing that holy and healing experience. It’s very helpful to have my thought turned toward contemplating things such as you have described. You said you felt a kind of peace that the human tongue cannot express. This brought to mind the biblical reference to “The peace of God, which passeth all understanding……” (Phil 4:7) That transcendent glimpse of the divine that is available to all of us.
Here’s a great article shared by J a few months ago that bears repeating,
The Disappearance of Matter

Also when Evan asked us today what do we spend the majority of time doing, I remembered this from a book called Ask The Awakened by Wei Wu Wei.
Why are you unhappy?
Because 99.9 percent
Of everything you think
And of everything you do,
Is for yourself —
And there isn’t one.
much gratitude to you Rose, all that you share has touched “the majority of time doing”, brought up a clearer picture, of poking around for answers, knowing the Truth is staring you in the face, if “99.9 of everything that you do, is for yourself, and there isn’t one.” More spiritual adventure ahead, DOING and stop spending time, but awakening to “BEING God’s image and likeness.”
Thank you so much for your inspired post Rose…
And the quote saying is just perfect. X
Beautiful Grace,
Thank you

Loved this article you shared. Thank you. I needed to hear & know the truth contained herein..
Dear Grace, Thank you for sharing this cherished experience with all of us, … continue on in Love’s rich fountain of peace!
Sitting on a nest in a snowstorm reminds me of a healing I had of feeling sorry for myself. My husband worked long hours and I felt like I was raising 2 little ones on my own. Just wanted a little break and a little help. I was tired. Dr. Seuss book Horton Hatches the Egg was there next to my daughters bed and read this to her before putting her and her sister down for the night. It was given to me but I had not read it before. If u aren’t familiar with it. . long story short. Horton was faithful 100%. Despite all that was going on around him, he continued to sit on the egg and he reaped the rewards. I had soooo much to be grateful for, I was able to be a stay at home mom which was very important to me. Through their entire childhood I never felt burdened again. Surprisingly I did get needed daily help in a very surprising way. I was sheltered and cared for but ingratitude didn’t let me see it. Never again. Thank you all every day for such words of wisdom, your stories and encouragement.
Thank you Janet. In sharing this with us, it brought a
really sweet smile and it helps in understanding our True self.
I Love such inspiration as shared here and would not miss it
for anything as the Truth sets us free from anything that would
keep us from finding harmony.
Joining together with God’s Spirit and Love, melts the snow and
finds us warmly safe in gratitude and in Peace. Holding to these
lovely thoughts helps in knowing we Are cared for and loved
with such divine Love.
It’s a very inspiring and touching testimony which Grace gave us. Thank you Grace!
Thank you Evan ! This morning I got up earlier than the other days. I had a wonderful experience that God is always with us giving us the ideas we need.
I could not come into my internet and I called a friend to help me. We tried several times several ways but nothing helped.
Then I pulled the main plug of my Wlan. During a time of waiting I prayed and affirmed that God is all-knowing and that this one precious God governs the situation. Then I again put the plug into the wlan box and turned the Computer on and tried again to find the way into the internet. Suddenly I saw a sentense to which I did not pay too much attention before. I felt impelled to click on this sentence and another window opened in which I could type my WLAN-key and ta ta , I had full internet again. I need that as I am clerk of my branch church.
I saw God’s loving presence and guidance and am still very thankful God gave me that quiet moment of prayer and listening!
Am very grateful for SpiritView and for this inspiring and loving SpiritView family.
Let’s have a wonderful weekend expressing peace and Joy and Love!♡♡♡
