Like the Father in the parable about the Prodigal son who told the older brother, “son, thou art ever with me and all that I have is thine.”
Thanks, Evan! It’s such an expansive thought. “All” overrules “some” or even “most.”
Thank you Evan. This Truth is very nice to listen to. There is something, I sometimes wonder about, although I always affirm this Truth that, ” All I have is thine.’ This is a biblical statement found in the story of the Prodigal son.
I wish that the commentators of Spirit View should help me understand how this property is eternally mine.
More than two decades ago my first husband passed on. I was left with two children and much property. Again that was the year I knew Christian Science. His brothers caused me to leave my home for them, The decision was taken by my husband and I to buy the land and build our house but as he passed on his brothers came a in and were living in my house vwith me. They threatened me so much such that I could not continue living with them. I took my children and we left. From then, they have been living in my house and are still living in it now. I have consulted with Practitioners, who have told me the property is mine and no one can take it away from me.
I wish to know what thought to hold so the property becomes mine as we say it. Thank you all. I am waiting to hear from you all. Thank you Evan for bringing us together.
Dear Grace
What a seemingly unfair situation….but it is a material approach to a material problem.
Consider where your true place/ home is. It is the Kingdom of Heaven , right here, right now.
Pray to loose any resentment about these family members. They are all , like everyone, the expression of our Father/Mother God and as such can only express love and honesty. Then also remember that your true home is within the arms of this enduring love and honesty. Finally , knowing the Truth of your spiritual being and doing….leave the answer to God, who is Principle ,eternally All . Much love to you and your family , and I love reading your contributions to SV❣️
Dear Grace,
According to my understanding of Christian Science, God has given every one of us a home, and Christ says it is within us – that is, within our consciousness. So home includes all that we
cherish about home i e. love, harmony, supply, peace, joy etc. We inherit this from
our Father-Mother God, each one of us, and it is spiritual. The belief that home is a material habitation made of material substances and subject to our being evicted from it, or cheated out of it, by materially-minded mortals, has no power to sustain this belief and take from us what God has given to us. So if you cherish all the spiritual ideas that made up your home, and all that you loved to have in your home, and thank God that He is in control and loving and blessing you all – giving a home to you and all good to all your relatives – and that they may know what God has provided for them also, we can trust that God will show all involved what is right and
good for everyone’s well being. You can say like Jesus to his accusers = “Father,Forgive them
for they know not what they do.”
As Evan says, no-one can take from you what is rightfully and eternally yours.
The spiritual idea of your home is what is rightfully yours,. So I suggest that you pray
in this way, and cherish all those wonderful gifts that God has given you that constitute your home, and trust God to reveal what is right and good.
Divine Love is as close as your very breath!
How wise you are to acknowledge this wonderful fact…to lean on it, cling to it, ponder it, rely on it, trust it
to dissolve the dream (belief/false claim) of loss or lack.
Step-by-step will you find the proofs and evidence that this is true… in clear, practical ways. Divine Love is not an abstract ideal, but…as close as your breath! Lean, lean, lean on the sustaining truth of this glorious Fact!
Dear Grace, page 1 in Science and Health,
“no loss can occur from trusting God.”
Hymn 3”A grateful heart a garden is,
A grateful heart a fortress is,
A grateful heart a temple is
A shrine so pure and white
Where angels of His presence keep
Calm watch by day or night.
”Grant then, dear Father-Mother, God
Whatever else befall,
This largess of a grateful heart
That loves and blesses all.”
Going back to the first verse,
“A grateful heart a garden is,
Where there is always room
For every lovely, Godlike grace
To come to perfect bloom.
Let’s see this as an opportunity to
see your/ their, thoughts, have perfect
bloom.
“Wholly apart from this mortal dream, this illusion and delusion of sense, Christian Science comes to reveal man as God’s image, His idea, coexistent with Him – God giving all, and man having all that God gives.” (My. 5:7)
You have the most beautiful, grand, and orderly home, designed especially for you, already in infinite Mind. Move in! Move into the spiritual truth that best fits your seeming need.
And thanks to whoever it was that first asked “what part of ALL do you not understand?!?!!”
Thank you all. This is real. Man lives in a timeless universe.
The article makes it clear that we are already living in God’s eternal harmony. That there is nothing to wait for but to find a present fulfilment in God as Love, Everyone finding fulfilment in this Love
The article and all contributions here, have lifted the mist. It is time I should testify of the love of God, I have experienced for the past 23 years since this error crept in. Thank you for the hymn. The words are uplifting and giving a new meaning to my thought. A great spark. I am very grateful.
Dear Grace, I just contribute with joy what Christ Jesus said in St. John 14: 1 – 3 :
1. Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2. In my Father`s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Wow, isn`t that a wonderful and assured promise of Christ Jesus!
When I looked for a new flat for me because I had to move from Hamburg to Berlin and later to Munich because of a job, I always prayed with this promis of Jesus and found the needed mansion with Christ!
Dear Grace,
What could one add to all of the beautiful comments above? They all
say it all. Home is really a state of mind where we abide in Love. Like
a turtle takes his home with him, he is at home anywhere and everywhere.
We, too, can be at home anywhere and everywhere … Really, in Spirit.
Just a thought, but perhaps God has something Better in Mind for you. I
have found it always helps to have an open mind. God is working His
purpose out in each of our lives and like the awesome rainbow and
message from Evan above, “what is rightfully yours is eternally yours”.
Those eternal qualities are not fleeting mortal “properties”, but divine
expressions of Harmony, Peace, Love and qualities like that can never
be taken from us. Like a rainbow sometimes appears after a storm,
this “bow of promise on the cloud”, as Hymn # 32 so lovingly states,
“Brood o’er us with Thy sheltering wing, Neath which our spirits
blend Like brother birds that soar and sing, And on the same branch
bend. The arrow that doth wound the dove Darts not from those
who watch and love”.
Birds, like turtles are adaptable as I remember growing up. There was
a little wren who used to come to a birdhouse we had put up, every
year. My Dad had brought it in to repair it, when the sweet bird came
to make a nest. My Mom had laundry hanging out on the line and all
was brought in but my Dad’s overalls and clothespin bag. The little bird
started putting twigs in the bag. My Mom had brought that in and then
it started making a nest in the pocket of the overalls. So determined was
this dear little bird to just “be”, that it sang and was happy no matter
where it was. Like this little feathered friend, our home, too, is within us,
in Love’s abiding.
Awww … Thank You, SV Friend! I remember the joy that
little wren used to bring. Such happy birds. Like chickadees,
they just resonate their love to the world.
I was thinking about rainbows and how their timeless beauty
is always constant in their prism colors, from Noah’s, Jesus’s
time, to Mrs. Eddy’s time, to our time. Eternal in nature and always
awesome and such a treat when we see one. Heavenly divine
Love smiling at us!
Dear Carol, that is so very lovely, thanks.
You know, when I see such a perfect and beautiful rainbow I think at the narrow connection of God to His whole creation, even the Oneness of God and man. ♡
A late reply but I just had to say how moved I was by all the wonderful replies to dear Grace, so full of Love, Truth and spiritual insight. Very heartwarming to witness.
Dear Grace, sending much love to you and your family. God’s goodness is pouring out upon all of you.
This is also a late reply but I too was so grateful to see the true brotherly love shown in all the replies to dear Grace. And wish to offer that on praying about those who seem entangled by mortal mind (and thus may appear to cause harm), I find very helpful this statement by Mrs. Eddy “All of God’s creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are useful, harmless, indestructible.” (SH 514:29) I reason that “all of God’s creatures” leaves none out, and all creatures being God’s, all are-as they must be-good (even when I or even they are not realizing this truth about themselves.) Being God’s, they are useful and harmless (useless or harmful, never!) And these qualities of God’s creatures, being God’s, are indestructible. So their good, useful, harmless nature is indestructible; it can’t be corrupted into a bad creature. And they are always moving, acting, harmoniously, according to the Science of Being, Truth, Principle, Love. So, in the proportion (SH 209:23, 140:6) that we turn our thought away from the mortal-dream picture of bad-acting people, and instead “cling steadfastly to God and His idea” (SH 495:14), “the enduring, the good, and the true” (SH 261:4) of God’s Man, the only true Man… the “outward evidence” aligns with Truth, as it is “transformed by the renewal of our thoughts” (Bible citation) and Mankind will no longer appear tyrannical (SH 140:13) Dear Grace, as the dear child of God you are, you have the God-given right to behold and experience the real sense of Home and Man in the permanent embrace of divine Love.
I love all of these angel messages with such comforting and
endearing thoughts of spiritual awakening to the Truth, God’s
ever presence. Dear AD, your declarations of all beings, in
accord with true brotherly love, is so true, but especially
your last line, to Grace, “as the dear child of God you are,
you have the God-given right to behold and experience
the real sense of Home and Man in the permanent
embrace of divine Love.” How comforting and profound
as a healing message to all of us!
When I was going through a similar Seeming experience,
where everything I knew in mortal thinking as home, customers,
stability of peace, all seemed to be in jeopardy and tried to be
taken away from me, I, too, had to “cling steadfastly to God and
His idea”.
Hymn #148 was so reassuring and calming:
“In heavenly Love abiding, No change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding, For nothing changes here,
The storm may roar without me, My heart may low be laid;
But God is round about me, And can I be dismayed?
Wherever He may guide me, No want shall turn me back;
My Shepherd is beside me, And nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever taketh, His sight is never dim;
He knows the way He taketh, And I will walk with Him.
Green pastures are before me, Which yet I have not seen;
Bright skies will soon be o’re me, Where darkest clouds have been.
My hope I can not measure, My path in life is free;
My Father has my treasure, And He will walk with me.”
We all need to keep that beautiful rainbow in thought!
Oh dear Carol, thank you for your heartfelt message and inspired sharing. I am grateful you copied hymn 148 here. It is one of my very favorites. It also helped me a lot when I seemed to have lost the most precious gift of my life experience, which made me feel my life was over. I clang especially to the promise of greener pastures yet unseen and that the storm of mortal-mind lies “may roar without me.” And to this day, this hymn “transports” me to higher ground. Much love.
I am glad I shared the hymn in it’s entirety, Dear AD and Uta.
I didn’t want to dominate the site by taking up too much
space, but each and every word is meaningful, and didn’t
want to leave any of it out, so included it all. One never
knows what reaches the heart the most.
I am touched by what you had written, AD , about seeming
to have lost “the most precious gift of [your] life experience.”
I don’t know what that was, but must have been very, very
special to you and I am so endeared that you triumphed
over whatever mortal mind tried to tempt you with. Thank
you so much for sharing that with us. It truly is inspiring to
read of such wonderful testimonies of Truth.
So much love is being sent to all, this day and always.
Wow thank you dear Carol for that very loved hymn; it’s one of my favorites !♡
Just one idea to home I love: our home is where God is, in divine Love – and I will dwell in the house (home) of the Lord, the conciousness of Love, forever. 23rd Psalm.
Thank you all very deeply for your very loving and inspiring comments .
Dear Evan, it’s great that through your healing and comforting SpiritView we all can come together with helpful and healing comments, thank you very much!-♡♡♡
Dear Friends, wish you all a wonderful and blessed witsun weekend – the pouring out of the holy Ghost on everybody, so that all nations can understand everybody in it’s own language. Couldn’t that be God’s peaceful Government over all his children!♡
Dear Uta, thank you for re-minding us with the beautiful, comforting Truth about home from Ps. 23 and MBE’s inspired understanding of it.
I also wholeheartedly second your words of gratitude for Evan.
This verse from hymn 16 is food for thought about what rightfully belongs to us: and is eternally ours”
I sing my way today,
My heart is joyous, free,
For what is Thine is ever mine,
I find myself in Thee.
Like the Father in the parable about the Prodigal son who told the older brother, “son, thou art ever with me and all that I have is thine.”
Thanks, Evan! It’s such an expansive thought. “All” overrules “some” or even “most.”
