  1. This hymn immediately springs to mine.

    Speak gently, it is better far
    To rule by love than fear;
    Speak gently, let no harsh word mar
    The good we may do here.

    Speak gently to the erring ones,
    They must have toiled in vain;
    Perchance unkindness made them so;
    O win them back again.

    Speak gently, ’tis a little thing,
    Dropped in the heart’s deep well;
    The good, the joy that it may bring,
    Eternity shall tell.
    (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 315:1–3)

    1. Thank you for these hymn words Maggie…so very thoughtful.
      And thank you Evan….this short quote is a healer.❣️

  2. Thank you, Evan. I recognized this but only know it in the KJ version of the Bible. However I had to go and find it becasue it is not Proverbs 1:15 but is Proverbs 15:1 – “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” A great statement, thank you.

    1. You can always click on the blue text in Evan’s posts which are links to web pages. If you do that it takes you to Proverbs 1:15 which doesn’t match the text Evan provided. So I think somehow the wrong link was used today and as David pointed out it should be a link to Proverbs 15:1 instead.

      1. Sorry everyone. We had an incorrect link of Proverbs 1:15, today for the quote above. I corrected it to Proverbs 15:1. Thanks for your understanding!

    1. Thank you J…. The article mentions the ‘’summit of inspiration’’ …. Just what Spirit View is for me!

  3. Thank you for this simple, but yet so profound message today! Two thoughts
    come to mind ….
    What the world needs now is Peace, sweet Peace which
    deflects anger, truly and quiets the matter sense of things, so gentleness and
    kindness can shine through. Also,
    as the sweet photo above depicts …
    Love is reflected in Love. What a beautiful way to start the day!

    (And Thank you, J – a great article from the Monitor)

  4. Thank you, Evan, for the wisdom from Proverbs. And thank you, Maggie, for the hymn lyrics, and J for the very helpful article.

  5. Evan’s post today reminded me of a book I read many years ago, The Gentle Art of Blessing by Pierre Pradervand. I have pulled it off my shelf to revisit. And of course, Mary Baker Eddy’s poem, Mother’s Evening Prayer. Our world will benefit greatly from gentleness. Thank you, gentle spiritview community.

  6. Thanks very much, dear Evan for this short but utmost important SpiritView today. This reminds me at the Beautitudes verse 9 of Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount where he says: “blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.” I’m happy and thankful to acknowledge me as child of God more and more resulting from studying the weekly lesson sermon more than years before. I’m reacting mouch more peaceful and kind. Thank you God!

    Thank you all for your inspired and loving comments !! ❤️
