There is a monumental freedom we gain in life when we cease blaming others for the problems we face and focus on keeping our thoughts aligned with Truth and Love instead.
Jesus Christ was a master at abstaining from blame and demonstrating the power of Love to continue prospering his cause.
Nailed to the cross, a place he did not deserve to be, he forgave his enemies. “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). This was an incredibly selfless position to take. But it saved him from the persecution of his enemies. It gave him a spiritually inspired state of Mind that enabled him to triumph over their evil. He focused on demonstrating spiritual truth which in turn gave him a victory over his enemies and put him in a better position than ever before.
We can do the same! Rather than waste precious mental effort embroiled in blame, along with its partners of resentment, anger, and emotional turmoil and darkness, we can remember that God governs our lives and gives us everything we need to prosper and succeed. There isn’t anything another person can do to rob us of what is coming directly to us from God. We have what we need from divine Mind to move on to better places than ever and leave any sense of evil behind.
There is no need to wallow in blame. Love instead. It brings far better results.

Amen!
Wonderful post Evan. Thank you.
II don’t know if this qualifies for this topic, but
I can’t stop thinking about a wonderful story
on the news a few days ago about two bears
that were kept in a small cage for years so that
people could gawp at them. They were badly
treated, and their small cage was a dreadful mess.
Some kind people noticed them and persisted in
asking the people in charge of them if they could
take them away. Eventually they were given permission, .and they had to cut through the bars to get them out. They took them to a protected
mountainous area (I can’t recall where this all
took place.I.m afraid) and let them go.
It was wonderful to watch them immediately scamper away, playing with each other joyfully. There
was no thinking about the awful experience or that
they needed to punish their cruel keepers
by attacking anyone, they just immediately accepted their true God-given joy, which had remained in them,
and they let that take over. They were free, and they
knew it, and were celebrating that freedom as if they
had never lost it.
So we too, need not harbour any resentment for any
unjust treatment or unpleasantness we may encounter. We can keep our sense of God-given
joy and freedom from mortal mind’s aggressive
suggestions, and keep loving God and all His
beloved children, as Christ Jesus did. We can never
lose our God-given joy and dominion – it is our gift
from God and remains with us forever.
Thank you for these beautiful, healing words.
Oh yes, dear Maggie, I do believe this goes along with the topic
beautifully. It is a lovely story and thank you for sharing it. It is
the same with rescued dogs that I have heard about and have
had throughout the years. Not knowing what their “past” history
was, but seemingly not good, the unconditional love that they give
in return for a better life, is so endearing. They move on from what
they may have experienced (mortally) in times before and just
love, love, love.
Thank you, Carol – we can learn a lot from animals – and theg= Bible tells us to do this, doesn’t it.
Yes, we need to just keep love, love loving –
that is our protection. Much love to you and all.
Thank you, and much love to you, too, Maggie,
and all.
Animals do teach us so many of God’s qualities –
patience, loyalty, humbleness, unconditional love,
etc. etc.
Thank you Maggie. That story of the bears harboring no traumatic memories and instead gratefully accepting the good that was now available to them, as evidenced by their behavior, of joyfully enjoying their new home, was a lovely example we can all learn from and emulate. Thank you again for sharing that story with all of us!
FYI…I looked up that story and found the bears were locked in the cage for 10 years prior to gaining freedom. And yet they were able to let go of that “history” immediately. A great example for us all!
Thank you Maggie for, “We can never lose our God-given Joy and dominion – it is our gift from God and remains with us forever.” That statement itself is a gift, calming and reassuring.
What a wonderful story that is so instructive to us humans. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m going to remember it!
And when we harbor resentment with fellow members of the church, doesn’t that cloud the windows so the light shines less to our community. Wash them clean by forgiving and moving on to being the light at the top of the hill, shining brightly.
Whoa, Evan——that was a lightning bolt that just jumped off my iPad! I have been mentally thrashing about for several days/nights revisiting a a hurtful unkindness. What to say, do, etc. Your comment that “there isn’t anything someone else can do that can rob us of what is coming directly to us from God” starts my day going down a healing path. A huge burden has dissolved. Thank you!!!
Thanks to Maggie, also. The last paragraph of your post is the perfect summary to ponder!
Thank you Evan and all here today contributing, wonderful freeing ideas.
It came to me recently after trying to right a verbal wrong brought against me of which I thought was unfounded, the most exciting and freeing news that came to me as an Angel message that moved me, “I DON’T HAVE TO DEFEND MYSELF, BECAUSE IT IS GOD’S JOB TO ALWAYS DEFEND ME!!!!
I then in turn included those in LOVE who seemed to be the attacker, and whoa, everything immediately settled into a more peaceful encounter.
I’m still working with this idea of real defense but now I go forward knowing true defense as Jesus must have done on the cross.
Love to you all my brothers and sisters.
Thank you for this, it’s so helpful.
Thank you Evan aand Magie and all the contributers this morning. What wonderful power to let go and know God’s grace of peace and joy!
