Are you claiming your birthright today? It’s glorious, totally of God, wholly good, and blessed with boundless freedom.
Millions of people see the opposite. They trace their beginning back to a material origin that may be fraught with a history of worldly lack and suffering. “There isn’t anything to rejoice over from what I can see there,” they declare. And justifiably so.
But Christian Science lifts thought to a higher level. Instead of seeing ourselves as mortals born into an impoverished material state, it reveals man, the child of God, as originating in Spirit, and endowed with spiritual life to enjoy forever.
It’s important to understand that the child of God does not begin with matter. The child of God is born of Spirit and inherits Spirit’s wealth and treasure—eternal life, health, and boundless happiness. As a child of God, you originated in Spirit.
Our glorious birthright with God is ours to claim and live out every day. Nothing in the material world takes it away from us. Nothing of physical sense deprives us of it. We won’t find it searching in matter. We find it in understanding—in understanding that the child of God is a spiritual being, living their eternal spiritual life with God this instant, and blessed with all of God’s goodness to keep it going successfully.
Mary Baker Eddy writes, “When we understand man’s true birthright, that he is “born, not . . . of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God,” we shall understand that man is the offspring of Spirit, and not of the flesh; recognize him through spiritual, and not material laws; and regard him as spiritual, and not material” (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 181).
Stand up for your rights! Don’t be timid. Don’t waste time in doubt and uncertainty. Declare your birthright as a child of God and live its blessings. It’s yours to enjoy. Here and now!
If we banish the human ‘’’personality ‘’to where it belongs ie the nothingness of error , we will give space to understand and be the man of Gods making. That is allowing true consciousness to expose our position of perfection…as you say Evan…our birthright. What a way to start a new week. Thank you❣️
Love this! Thank you Barbara ♡
Good Stuff AND TRUE
This was really helpful to me this morning, Evan. Ypu put things so clearly
and when we seem to have forgotten what we really do know and have proved
a little in our own lives,, your messages are so powerful and healing. Thank you
so much.
And thank you Barbara UK, your input really helps to further endorse what Evan has said ,
so also very helpful to me this morning. It seems to be so easy to let material
evidences overcome us, and I am getting myself back on the right road now.
The following hymn came to mind as I was praying with these ideas and is now keeping
me up in the spiritual realm of the real,
Forget not who you are, O child of God, / For God demands of you reflection pure; / Your heritage is goodly, and your home, / In Spirit’s warm embrace, is safe, secure.
You are the child of Spirit, sinless, pure— / Yours is a perfect beauty, born of Soul— / Complete with health, vitality, and grace. / For is not God, your Father, perfect, whole?
Your understanding, too, comes straight from God. / For in that Mind, magnificent and clear, / You are conceived by Love, a perfect child, / Unhampered by the flesh, or doubt, or fear.
So now look up to God’s pure holy light / And greet with fearless joy each coming day. / Of royal birth, you are a King’s own child— / And God is yours, and you are God’s alway.
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 475:1–4)
Thank you Maggie…I love this hymn…B.x
Thank you Maggie, beautiful Hymn ♡
What a Beautiful Hymn! Thank you for sharing it
A beautiful message to start our day end lift our thought to the blessings already provided for us from God. Thank you so much..
I woke up at 4:30 this morning and opened my email to this magnificent SpiritView. Thank you, Evan, for this and for all your SpritViews. I’m printing this one out. It stands as a daily reminder to where to begin our day.
Thank you so much!
This is a glorious way to start the day and the week. Thank you! I am
reminded of hymn #382:
“What is thy birthright man, Child of the perfect One;
What is thy Father’s plan For His beloved son?
Thou art Truth’s honest child, Of pure and sinless heart;
Thou treadest undefiled In Christly paths a-part
Vain dreams shall disappear As Truth dawns on the sight;
The phantoms of thy fear Shall flee before the light.
Take then the sacred rod; Thou art not error’s thrall;
Thou hast the gift of God – Dominion over all.”
Beautiful! Like sunlight on a lovely snow-covered landscape, after a storm.
Thank you Evan!

Thank you Evan and all. Reading this today made me ask myself…
“Am I thinking of myself as a cookie or a sunbeam?”
A cookie, humanly speaking, gets “created” at some point in time and exists for a while and then ceases to exist. Once created, it is separate from its creator and exists on its own. But a sunbeam cannot exist apart from its source and continuously reflects its source. It’s at one with its source.
We, like the sunbeam, don’t exist apart from God but continuously manifest God’s attributes. We express Mind as intelligence, wisdom, etc. We reflect Love as kindness, compassion, etc. We proclaim Truth as health, harmony, etc. We manifest Life as vigor, joy, eternality/infinity. We’ve never had a beginning, never been “birthed”, but have existed eternally, forever, with God, as God’s Be-ing.
It occurred to me a week or so ago that we are God’s song and God does not make recordings. God only produces live music. Therefore, we as God’s music are continuously being sung/played by God. I think that’s what John meant by God’s Word. We are God’s speech, God’s expression of Himself. What a joy to know that and be that today…and always!
Can you squeeze a sunbeam?

Love this helpful analogy RobertH, thank you for sharing it.
Do I see myself as a hopeless, perpetual sinning mortal who’ll never change? Or God’s child. knowing my true identity. Guilt, shame, anger, judgment, people-pleasing is a sign to stop and turn around because it is an indication of something wrong in my thought. Deal with it, evil is a liar. accuser, deceiver, tempter, it is not fact, and despite the “memory” it is false. I am not an image copied and spread rapidly by its user. I am not the imposter. I am the child of God and I am Love, Loved and Lovable as is every one my eye falls upon. God’s law of love and protection is forever operating regardless of appearances.

Thanks for the tip Love. I haven’t watched this yet, but here’s the Tom McElroy video you mentioned:

On this day in the U.S., we celebrate the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., whose courage and faith in Truth raised so many to believe in the freedom and integrity of all. Thank you Evan, for reminding us that no one is stuck in their past, and that we each inherit only good, from the great Giver of good.
Thanks Evan for reminding us who we get our birthright from. And thank you,
Nancy H for your comment on our freedom and integrity and the courage and
faith that we all have. MLK’s “dream” was for all of us to see each other as equal –
and not be judged by the color of our skin, (mortality), which is literally only
“skin deep”, but what is in our heart – the true Love of our character as given us
by our One and only Creator … each a unique individual in Spirit. In that way we
are truly people-pleasers of Truth, not as human mortals, each attempting to be
outdoing each other or above anyone else, but all equal as children of God.
In seeing each other on this level of spirituality based acknowledgment – there
is no past history that would try to deter our progress and no human obstacles
that would keep us from experiencing our God-given rights. We are awakened
to who we are and who everyone is in their individual unity with God – fetterless
and free from inharmony of any kind.
Loved the post Evan. Helpful comments too!
Thanks everyone.
