Some people yield slowly to the touch of Truth. Few yield without a struggle, and many are reluctant to acknowledge that they have yielded; but unless this admission is made, evil will boast itself above good.
~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 450
“…many are reluctant to acknowledge that they have yielded; but unless this admission is made, evil will boast itself above good.”
If it feels like evil is boasting itself above good, it may be a sign that there’s more room to admit the power and presence of Truth. To fully yield to Truth’s reality.
Thought yielding to Truth, is thought not yielding to error.
Be quick to yield. To Truth!
Thank you for this reminder….being a former computer technician: in a material world with all the ‘well, a computer is expected to break or not work at some point’ (the points taught in computer schools)….recently I had an issue with a part-time computer used for my branch church. The first thought to overcome was that ‘old serpent’ and then, the light of Truth….and Mary Baker Eddy’s statements that nothing can interfere with God’s work. Nothing can interfere with work done for the greater good. The resolution came quickly, and as I wait for the solution to come later today, I am waiting patiently and grateful and glorifying God in expectation to see the trials we must go through to witness God’s work in action. Thank you to God, Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy for this wonderful Truth!
most excellent.
Thank you, Evan. I believe our Daily Prayer is our prayer – our honest desire – to yield every day to the absolute authority of the reign of divine Truth, Life and Love. It requires our consent to LET God govern. His kingdom is here and now, but we must yield to His benign all-power and know there is no opposition, no Adam influence to impose itself into our thoughts and lives. Doing this just naturally rules out all sin– all possibility of missing the mark.
Daily prayer
Word-the thought and the thought expressed
May thy word-thy thought and thy thought
Expressed enrich the affections of All Mankind
And govern them
Daily prayer

May thy word-thy thought and thy thought
Expressed enrich the affections of All Mankind
And govern them
God’s thought Expressed!!
I love the way you’ve put this, Evan: “Thought yielding to Truth, is thought not yielding to error.” Fill the right cup! Thank you for the clear, simple Truth of your statement.
Very astute and helpful observation Wendy, thank you!
