I have a soft place in my heart for Cherie Brennan, who is an accomplished singer and songwriter from the United States. Many of you have heard her recordings in the past that have sold in Christian Science Reading Rooms.
She gave a concert at my local church years ago that was powerful and inspiring. Later, she performed before a lecture I gave in New York City on Christmas Eve. Her singing had everyone’s heart soaring with Soul.
I recently learned that she has a new album out titled “She Stood Alone,” that I think many readers on this blog would love to hear. Several of the songs will immediately resonate with you, including the title song, “She Stood Alone,” about the life of Mrs. Eddy, along with her Big and Little Children’s prayers, and other pieces focused on healing themes.
You can find her new album at cheriebrennan.com. Click on MUSIC in the upper right corner to locate her new album. And enjoy a special spiritual uplift for your day!
Thank you, Evan! What a special treat! Placing my order now. Looking forward to a first listen of “She Stood Alone.”
Following up, I purchased the download but it disappeared from the screen. I tried to contact Cherie through her website but once I hit “submit” I got an error message with a note to try again later. So, I’m hoping Cherie sees this post and can give me some direction. Thank you!
Thank you Evan always. I also heard a beautiful hymn by Susan Booth Mack Snipes on SoloCommittee.com CS Hymn #595
Track# 6 : Simply Praising Him
From album: I Am Holding You
I Am Holding You
Simply Praising Him
Words and music by Susan Mack
Edited/Arranged by The Solo Committee
Verse 1
When my heart is lost in sorrow,
No prayer comes to my lips.
There’s a tender prayer I can always pray,
It’s simply praising Him.
Chorus:
Praise the Creator,
Let all within me sing!
For that’s what I am made to do,
And comfort it will bring…..
Yes…LOL…love this hymn and others she’s written. ❣️
Thanks LOL. Here’s a link that people can use to listen to “Simply Praising Him”

Thank you, Evan, I hope you don’t mind me saying, that I am missing your normal SpiritView today.
We seem to be directed to purchase albums of songs from a singer of whom some of us have never heard.. I was expecting at least to hear the singer, and was not expecting to be urged to purchase her albums.
Even then, if I was able to hear properly, which is a problem for me at present, I could get a feel for the idiom.. Music is a very personal thing, and not everyone is enthralled by the same style. I wish everyone else joy, and look forward to tomorrow’s SV.
Thank you LOL for the words of the hymn – lovely. A prayer which
sings praises to our creator, I can do that, especially as that is what we are meant to do, as the hymn says, and knowing that it will bring
comforting ideas.
I have just found out that you can listen to a very short excerpt,
I think that is all. The bit I heard was definitely not my scene,
but i know it is for most people.
I have been trying to find something from Googling her, to hear her voice singing. Does she actually sing,?
or is it just\spiritual words recited in rhythms?
That was all I could find to listen to well enough to hear what everyone loves. What she was saying was lovely. but `i need to hear a singing voice to know and appreciate her.
Hi Maggie, I just found Cherie Brennan’s YouTube page. There are serveral videos of her, including full songs as well as short clips of songs. And if you click on Playlist, there seems to be a group of songs from one of her previous albums. Hope that helps. Have a peaceful day.

Thank you, Rose, I will investigate.
Cherie is a member of my branch church for years and we have her as a soloist and piano accompaniment on alternating Sundays. Of course she shares much of the inspiration she has composing her songs along with spiritual insights at our testimony meetings. Perhaps she may share some of the words for her song.
I always find so much inspiration each day from Evan and from all the contributions on the blog. Just recently I so thankful for the lovely Hymn sing that was at the Mother Church last Sunday. Now we can listen to the replay.
Enjoy a joy filled day. .
wow yes, wonderful the music of Cherie – I once got several albums from Cheri, and I love her music very much. Thank you dear Cherie. !!! ❤️
Hi dear Cherie, I’m sure you will read this all. ❤️
My question is, please let us know, how we can order this new Album “She stood alone”.
I would very much like to buy one from you!!
I have been a great fan of Cherie for years . At a time when I was feeling very low , listening ( and dancing ) to her inspirational music helped me through that dark time .
I will definitely be ordering from her website – but just a cautionary word about buying downloads – if the purchase doesn’t go through it can be tricky to investigate – ( I have found that buying thru the MC website )
Maybe Buy the CD ? Having said that , I have 2 of Cherie’s albums in my. Imusic file on my iPad which I can go to any time
Just thought ,it may be better to buy thru iTunes – if the album is listed
Thank you Evan for alerting us to a wonderful source of inspiration
Just checked – al
Bum is not listed in iTunes so purchase would need to be directly with her website
Thank you, Evan! I look forward to checking out her new music, and I LOVE that graphic of the music notes dandelion!
Just bought the whole album because music is a healing force. Thank you for the recommendation!
My favorite song by Susan Booth Mack Snipes is “I am holding you”
It has such a beautiful refrain that I think of often when praying.
“I am holding you
I am knowing you
I am minding you and causing you.
I am blessing you
And cherishing you
Mine own image expression reflection so true.”
A beautiful reminder of all the I Am is knowing and doing and seeing .
I look forward to hearing Cherie’s music.
Thank you, Joanna- great strong words of Truth.

Thank you Robert!
We can listen to all the songs on the album I am holding you FREE on http://www.solocommittee.com. I love Simply Praising Him. I first heard it sung at church, Hymn #595 in the grey hymnal.
This is such a lovely gift … music – so healing and comforting.
Hymns have a way of touching our heart and Soul like nothing
else can do. … well, maybe poetry or art or just words, alone,
of inspiration that is so special. I appreciate all that is shared
and love the dandelion of eternity, spreading the seeds of
Love, in the art shared above. Very heartwarming. Thank you! : )
A gentle reminder that none of us pay for a subscription to Evan’s posts and we are not entitled to a certain kind of post, nor every day. Yet he posts every day! Wow, are we blessed. It must be a pretty big deal then, when he shares an artist who has brought healing and inspiration. The world says it’s a tough go to be an independent artist or musician (I speak from experience), so for Evan to use his platform to promote a (wonderful) musician, I take this to mean, we don’t want this musician’s healing work to go away from lack of support. I love Cherie Brennan, and would not have known of her new album without this post. Evan faithfully posts every day without asking anything of his readers; what must it mean when he encourages us to support this artist? “Music is the harmony of being” (Mary Baker Eddy).
Evan does have a spot on this podcast that can be used to give him a donation to help cover his costs to keep this site going!
I’m looking forward to listening to Cherie’s new album! I also enjoy listening to Hymnstream.com. It has many wonderful artists and brings me comfort and joy. Although Cherie is not in this group of musicians on Hymnstream, I’m hoping she will be in the future. Thanks for the heads up Evan!
Thank you Evan – for bringing us all of these wonderful songs,
along with the ones mentioned in comments. It was delightful
to be reminded of and to go to Hymnstream again … and Thank you,
Alli. The hymns are so lovely and soothing. So calming and peaceful
and uplifting above the din of a sometimes challenging world. Each
artist delivers Soul with such Spirit and music reflects God in such
Beautiful and Awesome ways. So heavenly – this harmony of Love!
From the first paragraph of a Sentinel article from 1932, “Music is Divine” by WALTER E. YOUNG
“IN her Message to The Mother Church for 1900 (p. 11) our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, gives us this spiritual definition of music: “Music is divine. Mind, not matter, makes music;” and she says, “If the divine tone be lacking, the human tone has no melody for me.” In “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” (p. 213) Mrs. Eddy also refers to the human sense of music when she states: “Music is the rhythm of head and heart. Mortal mind is the harp of many strings, discoursing either discord or harmony according as the hand, which sweeps over it, is human or divine.”
Here’s a link to the article, though I don’t have a shareable link that will open for everyone – thanks if someone can provide:
