Dispelling nausea

I was enjoying some quiet time with my wife one evening while working with her on a 1000-piece puzzle.  All felt well in the world, and I had every reason to be happy and feel good.

At one point though, my stomach started to complain.  A feeling of nausea swept through my body backed up by a voice that said, “You’re getting sick.”  And I started to feel sick.

I didn’t want to get sick.

Nausea can be one of those feelings that wants you to believe it is imperative.  Like there’s nothing you can do about it but sit back and let it take over.  But Christian Science teaches the opposite.  Christian Science explains that nausea is mental.  It feels physical, but it’s a belief manifesting itself as a physical condition, and feeling like a physical condition, but it’s still mental.  It’s some type of aggressive harmful belief striving to dominate thought and make us feel sick, when as children of God, we are still perfectly healthy.

So, my first step was to correct the belief that I needed to get sick.  I said, “No!  I’m not going to get sick.”  Then I started knowing my spiritual truth.

I got clear that I was the same spiritual child of God that I had always been.  Nothing changed there.  I declared that I was not affected by anything I ate, by anything I was exposed to, or to any aggressive suggestion of illness trying to enter my thought and take over.  God made me healthy and keeps me healthy, I was confident, and God was keeping me healthy just as much that moment as any other moment of my life.

I found peace with my prayers and continued to work on the puzzle.  The nausea lifted, and I felt perfectly fine.  I stayed that way, and I was grateful!

Sickness is not imperative.  Health is!!  Dispel it with spiritual truth and stay well.

  1. Fantastic SpiritView and view of a true spiritual healing. I have had many “basement stair healings,” a favorite place where I enjoy quietly spiritually working things out if needed. Working with Love combined with the weekly Bible Lesson has lifted and healed this “number one awful feeling” many times, and in other places. There is no power in any “number one awful feeling!” I have not needed the basement stairs in a long time! The actual knowing and realizing that God has already made us perfect, is the healing itself. I love it.

    1. Interesting that some of us have special spots for opening our hearts and minds to God’s power of goodness and health! Mine is “out on the porch” or in the winter it is often standing in the garage. Sometimes, it is while sitting at the computer or across the table while conversing with a friend. God definitely talks to us – no matter where we are.

One day I was having tea with a friend at the kitchen table, and we were talking about a current “problem” that I had been working on. Note “I” – my first mistake. As we were talking about the issue I definitely heard “NO” and that took care of that. My friend is a Christian Scientist, and when I told her I just heard NO, she smiled.

    1. Thanks for sharing this Sentinel Watch. I had not listened to it before. Something that stood out to me during this talk, and also that with Martine’s Sentinel Watch this week (thank you Martine, if you are reading!), is “accepting” what is already true. Anita referred to it as a “revelation” and Martine referred to it as not a “recovery, but a discovery”. Both references are so helpful.

  2. Love this! You did what Nikki Paulk said in a recent Sentinel Watch. If you’re going to get a diagnosis, make sure you get it from God. Allow him to tell you exactly who you are. You got your diagnosis from God.❣️

  3. And thank you Evan. This treatment can be applied to so many other situations. “It feels physical, but it’s a belief manifesting itself as a physical condition…it’s still mental”. ❣️

  4. Thank you so much, Evan, for walking us through your demonstration
of overcoming what seemed to be challenging you. Sometimes we
seem to have a lesser pieced puzzle that can be put together rapidly,
fitting all the pieces in place, whereas other times, the 1,000 piece ones
take more patience to get through. But regardless, these experiences
are “trials are proofs of God’s care” (Mrs. Eddy). Life’s challenges can
often seem like there is a puzzle piece that is missing, but with determination
and perseverance, we feel elated when all of the pieces fit.

    1. Well put, Carol. I like that analogy, As I was reading at the end of what you wrote, the thought came to me to exchange the word “piece” for “peace”. And so if the puzzle is not solved, we need to find that ‘peace’ that reveals to us what we had difficulty finding. Then we see the complete and perfect picture revealed,

      1. Thank you, Maggie. Love that exchange! Sometimes when working
on a puzzle, there seems to be a piece (and peace) that is totally
missing. When finding it – it is so rewarding to know that it had been
        there all along.

  5. Thankyou Evan, for sharing this healing. how Blessed we are by knowing our true likeness to our Father, Mother GOD.

  6. I’m keeping this instruction, if you’re going to get a diagnosis, get it from God.

Healing will be the RESULT every time.

Been practicing this since attending the nursery and I’ve been healed too. Broke a glass milk bottle, as a young child, 2 years old, cut finger, quickly received stitches, but the healing has been permanent, ever since, as I’ve enjoyed a career as a seamstress.

  7. In sum:

    Healing is revealing.
    Recovery is discovery.
    Knowing is being.
    Health is harmony.
    Etcetera.

Thank you, all, for your loving, spiritual thoughts.

  8. Both yesterday’s post “A Fount of Understanding” with your truths “God has the answer you seek.”… and “The Mind of God has the understanding you need…” and today’s post are so wonderfully helpfu!!! What a great example of your post from the day before (June 19 – “Exercise your divine power) to: “Rise in the strength of Spirit to RESIST all that is unlike good….” (Science and Health page 393). Thank you so much dear Evan for sharing your inspirations and demonstrations and inspiring us!!!!

  9. Re “trials are proofs of God’s care”, “trials” include victories else they would be “defeats”! So, grab the victory!
