  1. No room …

XXXI. Since God is All, there is no room for His unlikeness. God, Spirit, alone created all, and called it good. Therefore evil, being contrary to good, is unreal, and cannot be the product of God.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 339:7–10)

  2. What I love about this “oldie but goodie” article: “YOU POSSESS SOVEREIGN POWER TO THINK AND ACT RIGHTLY” by GEORGETTE F. ANDREAE
From the December 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal,
besides the fact that it contains one of my favorite quotes, “Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love….” is the way it starts right out giving credit to Mrs. Eddy for what an amazing thinker she was and how much she gave to the world. Sorry I don’t know how to share it. Thank you Evan for today’s encouragement to think rightly!!

  3. Thank you Evan and all. Like it says in the lesson this week, “to begin rightly is to end rightly”. Always starting with God. The more we practice this the better we get at it.

  4. Thank you Evan and all…praise God for such a spiritual feast we have here every day! Loved this from the article (thank you DKM for posting!):

“Possessing “sovereign power to think and act rightly,” each individual is responsible for the quality of his thoughts. Sometimes it may seem to us that some person or external condition is preventing us from “bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (II Cor. 10:5). But let us not accept such a suggestion, for no person or circumstance can ever cast a shadow on our thought or project upon it the distorted images of mortal mind, unless we give our consent. Endowed with “sovereign power to think and act rightly” we can always refuse to admit the shadows which would overcast thought, or to accept the confused picture of the material senses.

Thought determines the character of the individual. Consequently, if we wish to improve our character, let us begin by analyzing our thoughts, not now and then, but continuously, that we may eliminate firmly and persistently everything evil— all unscientific thoughts—and gain, through prayer and humility, true thoughts, which are peaceful and good. If we truly desire to follow and demonstrate the truth that Jesus taught and lived, we shall be greatly aided on our forward way by his grand example and that of those noble Biblical characters who expressed obedience to the Commandments and the spirit of the Beatitudes.”

    Excellent! 🙂

  5. There was so much power to this article from the CS Journal of 1946 and it was so understandable. We are bombarded daily, hourly, moment by moment with the mortal opposite of God’s truth. The old hymn “Onward, Christian soldiers”, came to my thought. I would like to be and I’m going to try to be counted among them.

  6. What wonderful blessings I receive daily from Spirit View and through my studies of Christian Science, I am truly grateful.
Trials are proofs of God care.
Today was so what was needed.
Thank you God for all your blessings.
    Love and hugs

  7. Thank you Evan, and everyone for your thoughts and articles on thinking right.
I awoke this morning with a ridiculous dream – (talk about not thinking right! LOL).
It was where someone had broken into a window while I was right there on the
computer and had taken over, putting a tag sale full of broken down large appliances
in the yard. Having told them, they can not do that, they did anyway. I was
so glad when I awoke to know it was only a dream! Isn’t that what mortal mind
tries to get us to believe – that we are not perfect, our thought, our “home” is not
in control? Thinking rightly sees everyone in their loving spirit, right where they
are.. always as kind and sweet and cared for by our Father/Mother God. A dream
of anything but our or anyone’s perfection is just that, a dream… of mortal mind
and is not Reality, where we are always present within God’s Love for us. Our
thought takes us spirit ward when we overcome any belief that isn’t true.

  8. I’ve been reading Daniel Jensen’s “Beginning Rightly” address and it is so deep. Matter is just a dream and we need to replace the dream with the spiritual reality, not try to doctor the dream by trying to fix matter. Trying to fix matter is impossible but waking up from the dream is doable.

  9. In looking up the inspiration given by Daniel Jensen, you are so right, Jeff – it
is deep, but helps us not to get bogged down in the limitations of matter. The
article states, “Admit the existence of matter, and you admit that mortality
and therefore disease [ dis ease of any kind ] has a foundation in fact”. He goes
on with the Truth … It’s “divine Science” which enables us to rise above physical
theories”, to “exclude matter” and to “resolve things into thoughts” – that is,
to see that everything which appears to be material is only a thought, a mental
concept…. When you are dealing with thought, you are dealing with something
that can be changed, replaced, corrected”.
I love the simplicity really, of that concept, like with Evan’s confirming Truth,
“When we think right, we don’t think wrong”. Thinking right is seeing ourselves
and others as we Really are – God’s perfect creation. With the premise and basis
of our thought being like God, any matter that tries to make us think is real,
    really isn’t.

    1. I had never heard of Daniel Jensen so I did a Google search and found out he was a CSB having gone thru the Normal Class with Neil Bowles CSB of Atlanta GA which is where I’m from and Neil Bowles was a member of the church I attend First Church in Atlanta. I remember Mr. Bowles and his wife. They were both practitioners
