A quick healing

When the family boarded the plane for Hilo on our way back to the mainland, I was sitting next to Tyler. He was extremely restless, could hardly contain himself, and acted like he needed to get up and leave.

He started rifling through the magazine pocket in front of him looking for the little white bag for you know what, and that’s when I knew something was wrong. He was very sick and nauseated.

The door had been shut, so he couldn’t get up and go to the bathroom. We were stuck! And the future was looking very bleak…

But we weren’t stuck. This is the fabulous truth about Christian Science. That no matter where you are or what kind of a situation you are in, your help is immediately at hand. You don’t have to go somewhere to find it. You don’t need a medicine you might not have. Your help is already with you—and it’s the healing power of Truth!

I turned to God in prayer for Tyler reaching out to the Mind of Christ which would quickly see through this whole lie and bring harmony.

I put the impression of nausea out of thought and disassociated Tyler from it. I knew Tyler was a healthy harmonious child of God right there right then. He couldn’t be anything less. That’s the way God made him, and that’s the way God kept him. God’s image stays healthy all the time. So, Tyler had to be healthy. He had to be at peace. He couldn’t help but feel the calm and love of God ensuring him that all was well.

Tyler calmed down quickly, enough to sit still and pray too. His head bowed, his eyes closed, his thoughts focused on Truth.

I knew progress was happening.

I stayed in prayer and the next thing I knew we were in the air. Tyler had his headphones on and was watching TV. That was another good sign, I decided.

I figured the healing had come, so started reading a book.

After a bit, Tyler remembered that I was there. He briefly interrupted his TV show enough to cock his headphones off to one side of his head, turn and happily inform me in a very confident tone, “Oh dad, I’m alright now!” And he was free.

The next two hours of flight were bumpy, but it made no difference. He was healed and stayed in fine shape all the way home.

It was a nice and appropriate ending for a very special week.

  1. The quick response to the Truth helps us all and we are reminded where to go and how to accomplish the healing.

    Thanks!
