What is a treatment?

December 5, 2011 | 3 comments

Here’s a profound definition given by Mary Baker Eddy* of a Christian Science treatment.
Judy Huenneke, archivist and researcher at The Mary Baker Eddy Library, shared it on page 39 of The Christian Science Journal, November 2011.

“…a Christian Science treatment is an absolute acknowledgement of the ever presence of Infinite Perfection.”

Wow!  Think on that statement for a while….

  1. That reminds me of: “When I have most clearly seen and most sensibly felt that the infinite recognizes no disease, this has not separated me from God, but has so bound me to Him as to enable me instantaneously to heal a cancer which had eaten its way to the jugular vein.
In the same spiritual condition I have been able to replace dislocated joints and raise the dying to instantaneous health……
Certain self-proved propositions pour into my waiting thought in connection with these experiences; and here is one such conviction: that the acknowledgment of the perfection of the infinite Unseen confers a power nothing else can.”

    1. How do we acknowledge the infinite Unseen, the one Mind which confers all power
is the question of the hour! Seeing without our eyes as our Father who seeth in
secret, not based on observation, hence relinquishing all that appears for the
invisible substance of all that appears, hence unseeing all and getting out of
God’s way so that the infinite Unseen is All and when thought is lost in the
eminence of the infinite Unseen the healing takes place. Allness is the measure
of the infinite Unseen. This is the only way we can acknowledge the infinite
Unseen and unleash a power never seen before!
