A woman who is making a difference

May 11, 2016 | 17 comments

Tawanda Jones lives in Camden, a community hit hard by poverty, crime and pictures of hopelessness. But Tawanda doesn’t sit around and talk about how things need to get better in her community. She is out doing something about it.

I like her attitude. It reflects what I’ve learned in Christian Science. One’s practice of love cannot be one of words. It needs to include meaningful action. Tawanda is taking meaningful action.

  1. The power of one right thinker/doer….making a difference on Planet Earth! Thanks for sharing this, Evan. Made me want to get up and dance! 🙂

  2. Thank you, Evan for sharing this example of great good going on in a community. Inspiring! A true sense of love and of not letting the material picture overwhelm.

  3. When Tawanda said “it’s not about dance” and “I did it for myself” I believe she gave the key for finding the unique work we are each intended to be doing as ONE. Her seeking Divine Love allowed it’s expression to flow to and through her and all those intended for this work. Thank you Evan for the beautiful reminder that All is One in Presence and Power – that we were created to be distributors and that when we are mentally ready to do so the way will easily appear and all steps fall naturally into place.

  4. What a wonderful example she is of the power of Love.
So much good going on that we don’t hear about. Counteracts all the “negative news” . Thank you, Evan, for always sharing these wonderful stories and videos with us. And thank you Patty for your great comments.

  5. Christian Scientists do a lot of thinking. ACTING? This is a reminder, perhaps a suggestion, that we put our good thoughts into action. Yes, beginning with me.

  6. Wow! Thank you Evan. So refreshing to hear the “good news”. I love that woman…God’s love just shines through her and that’s the attraction, that’s the motivating power! As the popular song says “What the world needs now is love, sweet love…”

  7. Wonderful. Thank you Evan. Grace and Rhonda I ditto your comments: “The power of one right thinker/doer….making a difference on Planet Earth!” ” Made me want to get up and dance! “

  8. Oops!! Here is ditto from Rhonda! ”So refreshing to hear the “good news”. I love that woman…God’s love just shines through her and that’s the attraction, that’s the motivating power! As the popular song says “What the world needs now is love, sweet love…”

  9. Another example of pure love of man expressed in complete unselfishness is my aide, GAITREE RAMCHARITAR from Guana who gave up her family to be with me 24/7 since 1/1/2015 & care for me with no complaints. A monument should be built right outside Albany residence of New York State Governer ANDREW CUOMO describing her sincere dedication.

  10. A very inspiring story. It makes me wish that I could find such passion with all the compassion to make such a profound difference in someone’s life.

  11. Beautiful, when we know the Truth for the world in our prayers, we help make these things happen. Error can never distinguish the light, and we should not limit where that light will appear. We always expect good; sometimes we are blessed to see the results, but the results of prayer are always good and evident.
