Are You Acting Selfishly or Unselfishly?

“Almost every sinful action ever committed can be traced back to a selfish motive.
It is a trait we hate in other people but justify in ourselves. ”

  1. Wow Evan! This is so true and I am glad that you posted this because so often we talk about selfishness but never think that we are, too, exhibiting that trait unknowingly. It is easy to cast stones; however, it’s difficult to accept seeing our own acts as being selfish. Thanks for posting this quote!

  2. Thanks Evan, Wow I have such a long way to go – so much to learn. It is a blessing that my “faults” are not permanent and that prayer and my heavenly father’s love will wash me clean! Thanks again,
    Bud

  3. It strikes me that being ‘selfish’ is the little self trying once again to perpetuate, promote, protect ‘itself” . If it is not a quality of God it does not belong to me.

  4. Is not selfishness also one’s own response to the sense of fear that one is lacking? But, each does have all for one’s own needs. Make no comparisons between one and another and you will see (find) there is no lack, nothing to lack, but you are completely outfitted for your assignment. One has all it needs for its infinite assignments as does two, or three thousand, or any other number to fulfill their distinct need to the only correct outcome, as purposed. That “little” number one is just as valuable to the principle of mathematics as is the trillions of which is spoken today. Can I not be grateful for being that one, that one which is always connected with Spirit, God, and never alone or separated from Him, divine Principle? It is time now to express infinite gratitude for all that we are. That there is enough for all, always, in all ways complete.

    Thank you, Evan.
