Activity and aging

November 4, 2010 | 2 comments

One quote I picked up from the above video clip that I just love…

“We don’t become less active when we age. We age when we become less active.”

How true! And I apply the rule to thought, more than to body. True activity is mental. The body only does what thought tells it to do. So, if thought consents to aging and all it’s false limited beliefs and starts to slow down accordingly, the body does too. Not a good place to be or go.

So, it’s vitally important, critical even, that our metaphysical work and prayer increase over time and become more vigorous and more productive so we stay ahead of the lies that would slow our thinking down, and our body too, to the levels of mortal mind that are diseased, lethargic and uncomfortable.

Life is eternal. Live it accordingly.

  1. Thank you for sharing this video which gives me more to ponder! I was also struck by the quote, “We don’t become less active when we age. We age when we become less active.” And as Mrs. Eddy states in Science & Health, “Each succeeding year unfolds wisdom, beauty, and holiness.”

The video topic of wisdom reminded me of when our 2 sons were growing up and I would counsel them to “use wisdom” when they were trying to figure something out or make a decision. Of course my meaning behind using wisdom was spiritually based, using the wisdom and guidance we are given by our creator, God, as opposed to relying on a brain, etc.
