  1. Gift of Self: One of my best friends gave me a Christmas gift of visiting us for a week in the spring. We moved cross country a year ago. How did she know that I was missing her? It is the very best Christmas gift I have ever been given. May God bless her and her husband who is supporting her in this wonderful gift!!!
I so love the way Christian Scientists think!

  2. Only in retrospect do we sometimes appreciate certain times or events. Our Wednesday night readings were about “gifts” and God’s gifts to us etc…but I was reminded how every day when we went off to school my mum would remind us that “You are God’s perfect child and you can do anything because God is always there to show you the way” or some version of that. idea. After hearing the way someone else used to go off to school feeling frightened or upset, I now realise what a great gift it was that we were brought up constantly being reminded that “Nothing is impossible to God and YOU are God’s children”. Now THAT is a gift that has always kept on giving!

  3. CHRISTMAS PRESENTS THAT LAST

What present did Jesus give his friends?
A gift of Love that never ends.
    Not confined to Christmas Day,
For, Lo, I’m with you, all the way.

God will supply your needs not wishes, –
Look what was done with the loaves and fishes:
Five thousand people and more were fed.
The gift of Love gave them their bread.

Many came who were blind and lame:
The response of the Lord was just the same.
“Rise up, be free! Sin no more!
Love one another, that’s the law.”

What present should we give our friends?
The gift of Love that never ends.
    Not confined to Christmas Day
But from each heart, and it will stay.

Thank you everyone for your presents throughout the year.

  4. Lovely poem, Ken. You all are such a wonderful gift to me with such blessings and thoughts of caring throughout the year. Spiritual gifts are the best ~ aren’t they, for the joy we give and receive from them are forever. Thank you all for your gifts of love through this wonderful site.

  5. Thanking Evan and all the commenters for their daily gifts to us on this lovely SpiritView! It’s like Christmas everyday.

  6. Yes! Thank you, Evan, for your beautiful daily reminders of our true spiritual selfhood, our ever-present gift from God! And Ken, your poem is beautiful–thank you. The love of God be with you all.

  7. Christmas is everyday, namely receiving God’s everlasting gift of His Love to us all, His dear children. And this Love we in turn give throughout the year in various forms like loving kindness, helpfulness, healing, comfort and even more to our neighbor in need, and this could be a family member, lovely friend, church member etc.
So everyday is Christmas, the coming of the healing and saving Christ , the true idea of God to all of us!
What a wave of lovely thoughts are coming from one sentence of today’s SpiritView. Thank you Evan, you give us all days your loving Christmas presents!
Thanks Ken for your wonderful poem! Will print it out to read it more often during this X-Maß time.

  8. A very dear friend from childhood gave herself the retirement gift of a trip by train across Canada to visit me in California. Talk about unselfed love!!! We had a very joyous time sharing our memories. She was evacuated from England at the age of 5 during World War II, and was my sister for about 5 years. Christmas is especially a nice time to feel deep gratitude for our blessings. May you all have a Christmas overflowing with blessings!

  9. I, too, thank you, Evan, for your beautiful daily reminders of our true spiritual selfhood, our ever-present gift from God! And Ken, your poem is beautiful and a keeper for ready reference.

  10. Love ed the poem, Ken and will copy it when my printer is fixed.

Also Evan your helps and unselfed love are so appreciated.
Joy to all and profound peace amidst the turmoil of the day!
