Are you ready to change the world for the better?

February 4, 2019 | 18 comments

What can you do with your life to accomplish the most good? Where is the best place to devote your time and energy for the most desirable life outcomes?

If you’re looking for answers to these questions, you might check out an article I wrote that was published in the 2019 February Christian Science Journal, titled, “A Cause Worth Supporting.”

Here’s a link to the article:

“A Cause Worth Supporting”

I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Well, I am certainly one who is really glad you turned to become a full time practitioner and teacher in Christian Science. Being a warrior for good is the highest purpose that we can achieve on this plane of consciousness. Knowing that God is good and can only be good and in reality has no worthy foes is realizing the eternality of truth as the divine principle that be. Great article. thanks for posting it, Evan.

  2. ‘It follows in the footsteps of Jesus, who understood better than anyone that mankind’s primary need is always spiritual.’

It, being Christian Science. Thank you, Evan, this is an article designed to wake us up to our own ability to pray for the world and help our neighbors in the way that is needed most: to find spiritual solutions to the issues of mankind. There have been great technological advances in mankind’s quest for the truth, but the issue remains: Man’s primary need is always spiritual. This is a truly remarkable article to be studied and lived. Thank you Evan. I love apples but I’m so happy you took a different career path.J:-) You have blessed me and so many others.

  3. Evan, Excellent article in the February Journal – very well written and so motivating for all! Thank you for the good work you continually do! Your generous sharing of ideas is very much appreciated!

  4. Thank you Evan, very good article, really makes one think about the importance of ones own work and thoughts about others, especially those not so loveable, this is something I need to pay very close attention to.

  5. Great article. Thank you Evan. Much to ponder on how to help our neighbors and the world and the importance of this work.

  6. Thank you Evan for explaining these salient, important points to Christian Science healing. Great example and explanation of the coming and second appearing of the Christ. On point and specific in the application and demonstration of the Christ, Truth handling the belief of evil. Thanks for this addressing this timely topic. So grateful for your spiritual thought, inspiration and practice!

  7. Thanks, Evan. Great article—a wake-up call! My husband and I speak often that the only thing we really need is an understanding of God and the Science of Christianity. It will meet every kind of need for ourselves, our family, friends, neighbors, and even our “seeming” foes! It is the one goal worth attaining. Thanks for the encouraging words.

  8. Thanks, Evan, for including the link to your article making it so easy to read it again. I especially liked your example: “It does more than give a neighbor a fish to eat, or even teach a neighbor how to fish. It teaches one’s neighbor where to fish—to find all health, supply, love, peace, and purpose in God, the source of all good.” Thanks for showing us where to find all good, and only good – GOD!!!

  9. Evan- that article was amazing and I believe just what we, as Christian Scientists, need! Too many of our church members aren’t coming to church. They may attend the service but the dedication and Love aren’t apparent. The generous serving is unreliable at times.
Thank you for the loving reminder and encouragement

  10. Thanks, Evan! I get your point! Too many CSers just stay within the walls of their C.S.Church and become insular and hidden away. I take it out with me to Yoga Classes, to Meditation Retreats, to Twelve Step Groups and they all know my background is C.S., yet I can still mingle and let my Light shine and share with those who are interested. Time to stop waiting for people to come to the C.S. Church and get out there and stop “burying the morale of Christian Science in the grave clothes of the letter”!! Time to get beyond “Religion” and Live and Share Truth and Love with different Religions and Churches and Spiritual Groups! We’re All in this Together and we can help each other and listen to each other and not build walls of Religion between us!

  11. Thank you so much for your so really gorgeous and so very much needed article in the February Journal dear Evan. I bought this Journal and studied that wonderful article a bit earlier. Also this weeks lesson SPIRIT talkes about following Christ Jesus and being a healer.
In former years already I was said that every church member should be a cs nurse and a cs practitioner. A cs nurse is also a spiritual profession and not only bandaging and feeding and helping to cloth a patient. MBE says in the manuel that a cs nurse must have a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science. I think both are very needed, as both practitioner and nurse are spiritual healers.
Yes, in these times there are many more practitioners and also cs nurses very needed. But what I think is, that sometimes it takes a bit more courage for some devoted Christian Scientists, to apply for listing in our CS Magazines. Take heart and take courage to apply, for God is with us all.

And dear Patty, you are not the only church with such socalled problem with your members. What I thought after praying about that situation is, to love, love and oncemore love unconditionally all those members specially, who think that it is not neccessary to come or to join you in devoteful church activity! Love is the healer!!

As Jay Matthews says, it is Springtime in Evan`s heart, and I would say in our everybodies heart. Love that beautiful painting – welcome dearest Spring!
Thank you all for your inspired and helpful comments dear SpiritView friends 😉

  12. Thank you Evan for sharing your experiences in the article. It’s always helpful when we can see how these spiritual ideas can be applied in our daily lives. Yes, we must be up and doing! We can go forward like David unafraid and unfazed by the seeming enormity of the problem. And as Evan also demonstrated.

  13. Thank you Evan for your super new article fresh off the press about yielding to the power of God now and for ever. It goes right along with this weeks CS Bible Lesson.

  14. Dear Evan thank you for this inspirational article. I am so grateful for the work you do and share with us. Blessings to you.
