Are you aware of the good that is happening? Or do you get too preoccupied with fears and worries that cause you to overlook the good?
For instance, you have dinner with a friend and they are happy to see you and catch up on the news, but you’re more worried about whether you’re going to gain weight from what you eat?
Or your boss assigns you a new exciting project at work that will tax your abilities and stretch you out of your comfort zone and make you a better person, but you’re more worried about whether you have time to do it?
Or your teenager is sharing a new insight with you that is important to him and you’re more worried about his messy bedroom?
Or your wife is sending you subtle messages that would be in your best interest to discern, but you’re too worried about what happened in the office that day?
And the list could go on.
To maximize one’s experience with good in life, it pays to be aware of it! It is happening all around, but we often dismiss it or ignore it because we get too preoccupied with selfish fears and worries. And life can go on without us.
So, don’t do that!
Stay spiritually aware. Expect the good ahead of time and you’ll see it when it arrives.
Look for the good in others and you’ll find it.
Know that good is happening at all times, and you’ll be aware of it. Life won’t pass you by. It will embrace you and lift you up.
Life is good. God is good. And you have it all to experience every day. Stay aware and enjoy!
