If you’d like to see more blessings unfold in your life, be grateful for all the blessings you already have!
Mary Baker Eddy asks, “Are we really grateful for the good already received?” And then answers, “Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 3).
Wow! What a revelation. Blessings come from being grateful for what one already has.
Being grateful for what one already has is an act any of us can do at any moment. We don’t have to wait for something to happen “out there” to receive more blessings. We acknowledge what we already have, and then our blessings multiply. It’s a rule we can practice for good results.
What are you waiting for? Be grateful! And watch the blessings roll in.
So very true!!! Thank you Evan !! There is always much to be grateful for and the more we acknowledge it the more we see it ,
Very true Dottie, it is a law that what we put our attention on, what we focus on is what grows. So if I want to see more of the ever-present good, I need to keep my focus and gratitude there.
One of the most beautiful lessons I have learned is that God will bring into our lives what we need when we need it..
The timing is His, the gift is ours..
Gratitude opens the windows of heaven to a life more blessed.
I love this, “the timing is His the gift is ours.” Thank you for sharing this.
This lesson has worked for me so many many times. Being grateful and acknowledging what we HAVE now, instead of enlarging on what we haven’t got…. brings miracles into your life!
Happy thanks giving day!
Every day
Shared before. “Gratitude
is riches, complaint is
poverty .”
SpiritView brings thanks
every time Evan shares it.
Thanks. Evan
Again,
Happy thanks giving day!

Thank you Evan for your inspiration and bringing us all together! Thank you Manuela for sharing this blog by Pierra Pradervand.
What a beautifully inspired SpiritView, Evan. Thank you so much. It’s always important to acknowledge the good already received and yet at times mortal mind would cloud our gratitude with a sense of want, which never brings healing.
I am very grateful for your generous giving to us in all of these SpiritViews. A wonderful way to start each day they are offered.
Thank you, Evan!
I love the way the Daily Lift ties in perfectly with Spirit View!
“Gratitude: A not-to-be-missed spiritual feast” By Ruth Geyer, from the November 2022 issue of The Christian Science Journal:
https://journal.christianscience.com/shared/view/jm584b3cre?s=copylink
So grateful for such lovely messages of spiritual enlightenment! Coming here is a
feast of blessings and views of the divine, through God’s presence and purpose and
is wonderful to behold. God’s Love gives us so much to be grateful for, wherever we
are or whatever we do. Divine Love showers us with eternal Goodness .. not limited
at all by mortal views that may seem impressive and real, but are fleeting in the
foreverness of Spirit. Spiritual sense transcends anything of matter and gratitude for
all of the good that God provides … is a powerful, but yet gentle force of living Love.
Thank you for this reminder! It brings to mind this phrase from Science and Health: “ When the destination is desirable, expectation speeds our progress (426:8–9)”. Expectation of good, from God, is a parallel to gratitude. It opens the heart and thought to what really is, and already have.
Agreed Nancy. When we pray with spiritual truths, and then have the expectancy of Good, it shows our confidence and trust in God, that He will show us what is true. It is a form of gratitude.
It was mentioned here on SV, that ‘Worry is ingratitude in advance.’ The reverse is also true, that expecting good is gratitude in advance.
I’m grateful to be learning I can trust God to take care of me (and of us all). Just like the sheep who look to their dear shepherd for all their needs, full of trust and peace (as we recently discussed regarding the 23rd Psalm here on SV June 24, 2024 and October 30, 2024. You can find these excellent SV discussions by clicking on the Archives tab). Also grateful for so many resources that help me continue to grow and expand my spiritual understanding . And grateful for Evan and all of you. Much Love.
Grateful thanks to you, Evan, for daily feeding us with “the bread of heaven? and giving us
spiritual ideas to inspire us to think more deeply about them, and share our enlightened thoughts
with each other. I am grateful to everyone here on SpiritView. The list would be too great to write of all the things that Christian Science has taught me, and still is teaching me., and I am grateful for. But above all, I am so grateful for Christ Jesus and to Mary Baker Eddy for devoting her life unselfishly to passing onto us the wonderful Science of Christ she discovered, instructing us how to heal ourselves
and others, and how to do our bit in helping to heal the world’s woes, through scientific prayer.
So grateful for all your Sentinel articles, vlogs, and lectures on utube.
It is wonderful to be filled with gratitude. But even if you are not, you have a rich inheritance. Think on this;
Matthew 5:3-12
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! 🙂
Hi Evan, I am utmost grateful for this important reminder to be thankful! Immediately after I read this SpiritView I was still and thinking about all the richness of God’s goodness I received so abundantly all my life! Thinking about that I am well aware that I am (we all are) the rich and blessed child of an overrich Father-Mother God.
This abundance of God’s Goodness was and is always in connection with Christian Science and the CS church and my work as CS nurse and secretary of my branch church. Wow, all this is a reason to be utmost grateful for. Also my branchcurch in Hamburg celebrates Thanksgiving Service this coming Thursday Evening.
Dear J , I am utmost grateful for the article about Gratitude by Mrs. Geyers. you give us here. It is such an inspiration and joy to read. Yes, because God made His creation very good, we can thank Him before we experienced a healing we might be praying for and awaiting it hopefully. It’s a wonderfully healing article, thanks J!!!
Happy Thanksgiving week to all – with Love!♡
Such a tender sweetness and mutual understanding expressrs today’s Foto!
