Has another person ever made a good suggestion to you about how to carry forward with something important in your life, but you ignored their idea, figuring you had everything under control, and didn’t need any help from someone else? And then later you discover that their idea was the best idea, and then wish you had listened earlier and saved yourself a lot of suffering in the meantime?
It happens. The human mind gets all wrapped up in ego, pride and self-righteousness, and figures it has everything under control, when it really doesn’t. The human mind can be quite ignorant and self-willed at times.
But this can be prevented. Humility helps. A willingness to listen outside of oneself and be open to other people’s ideas helps. Also, honesty helps.
Be honest about what you hear. Especially what you hear coming from God.
The one Mind always has a solution to any problem you face. And Mind puts that solution directly into your thinking. It’s always there to be discerned and acted upon. But we need to be in a listening mode to hear these ideas and benefit from them.
If God is saying, “Turn right,” and you’re thinking, “Turn left,” it pays to be honest about what you’re hearing and discern the correct way to turn for the best results.
If we blindly stick to human will, we might ignore God’s direction and then suffer for our poor decision.
Be honest about what you’re hearing. God is speaking to you, always.
Listen and hear what God has to say. The Voice of Wisdom will lead you aright.
This is sooooooo GOOD!!!
HALLELUJAH!!!❤

Ahhhh.. this is really great advice. Thanks, Evan !
Thank you. This is very helpful for me today!
Thank you Evan for reminding us what to do when
we are uncertain what to do next.
Indeed it is wise to be humble enough to listen to
others when we are not sure how to proceed –
humility is key. However, there may be many human opinions suggested to us, so we have to be careful not
to follow without checking with God that it is the
right decision. We should be able to feel at peace with
God if it is the right one, In 1 John 4:1 we are told:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets
are gone out into the world”.
As Evan points out, it is the divine Mind that has the
solution to every problem, and puts it straight into our
thinking. What a burden that takes from us, for
we can be sure then that we going forward correctly
and safely.

“Am I truly listening?” As I paused, prayed, and embraced the desire to listen to and obey God’s direction, I felt peace wash over me. By Dave Oakes. From the August 4, 2025 issue of The Christian Science Sentinel:

The article is very inspiring, especially the analogy of the red, yellow, and green light metaphysical thoughts he had applied.
This article is soo very inspiring.. thanks so much for sharing .. definitely a keeper !!
And thanks to Evan for getting the insights going today
Thank you J!❣️
This reminds me of mediation. When we are speaking we are most likely not listening.
Hi all! This is today’s Daily Lift. https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fclick.cssubs.com%2F%3Fqs%3Df701ecda1ff38dea1b84c5a6324dd52f1ba38db2f7f775e88c1690ee35e2bb391df4c19634c4ff2d3835b943ca3b081a2d9a1aaa8d44042b399daa64f603d3e5&data=05%7C02%7C%7Ce1aaeefeba2d41f0525508de1aa8cf01%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C638977509493991781%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ViZY%2FkQC3BtfxBNrO4UyiBOI6JEoAl0OM5M4dRcKcPU%3D&reserved=0
Thank you Christine. I had trouble getting your link to work so if that happens to others too, below is a shorter link to the Daily Lift for today.

Thank you Evan and everyone for your comments. I happened upon an article from the 1968 Sentinel that seems appropriate to Evan’s topic today. A link is below. An experience the author relates reminded me of something that happened to me that proved to me God’s angel messages are always available to keep us safe if we listen and obey them. A strong hurricane went through the area in which I live about 25 years ago and caused a lot of trees to topple over. I was without electricity for about 7 days and pretty much the entire city was out of electricity for at least 2 days. The day after the hurricane I decided to go for a drive around the city just to get out of the house for a while. It was night and due to the power outage, the streets were very dark. I turned down a fairly major two-lane street that has a 45-mph speed limit and started to get up to that speed when it was almost like I heard an audible voice to “Slow Down!” I listened and shortly the headlights of my car revealed a wall of downed trees that were blocking the road. Had I been going the speed limit, I would have slammed into those trees before I would have been able to stop. I often think of this and try to remember that God provides the direction we need at ALL times…sometimes via an angel message like I received in this instance, sometimes in a message from another person, sometimes in a message from an article, etc. If we’re alert and humble as Evan explained, we will hear these messages and obey the God given direction and experience harmony as a result.

Thank you Robert, for your thoughts and article. ❣️
Thank you for an excellent article, RobertH.
Thank you Christine for this Daily Lift that I don’t always get to. It’s so perfect. Joining 2 choirs this holiday season including voice lessons and having to memorize several songs is overwhelming. Finding the time with my other activities is challenging. It’s so important for me to trust and to listen every moment as to which step to take, where does God wants me to be at every moment. To know I reflect joy in all I do and to be grateful for all the opportunties I have to help others is prayer.
Thank you, Evan for this wonderful inspirational blog today. You are always so right on! Every day!
Thank you Evan for this SV today! Also C. EARLE ARMSTRONG and J. For sharing these excellent articles. So helpful!
How many times has someone listened to GPS and ended up at a pier,
because whomever had programmed the directions were not correct?
Where I used to live, folks would sometimes question ending up on a
dead end road, insisting that GPS was correct, guided them there, but
it wasn’t. Bewildered they were stuck in believing something that was
not true, until they listened to what was.
Listening to the Good, the pure, the perfect, the “still, small voice” of
God’s direction is always a rewarding place to be. The Spiritual View
is always the best guide to follow and Thank you, Evan and All for these
wonderful words of wisdom, to get or keep us, on the right track.
Thank you Evan for Be Honest About What You Hear. When I take the time to get quiet and listen to God I will hear Truth. I’ve noticed a bad habit of continuing to listen to error thoughts, which seem to repeat over and over. Then I am being error’s advocate, error’s helper, listening to and reciting and believing lies about God and His beloved child all day long. It is quite illogical and it leads me to painful and dark thinking. Why on earth would I want to repeat lies about me (or about another person or a situation), when I can repeat divine Truths all day long, that do not harm but greatly uplift and benefit — and are actually TRUE. Then my Joy returns.
Today I am affirming and declaring, again and again, that the only thing happening is Divine Love is pouring out good every moment, and that I can only be aware of Love’s presence. That is my divine right, to know and declare what’s true. I am silencing and obliterating error beliefs by using its own tactic – repetition.
