Be willing to move for something better

October 21, 2020 | 30 comments

Would you like to experience something better than you’re presently experiencing? There’s a way. Be willing to move–to a new and higher state of thought!

Here are a few thoughts I recorded while hiking in the north unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park last September, on how a willingness to move opens our lives to new and greater possibilities.

“Be willing to move”

    1. Thank you Angie for making the article available to everyone. I don’t think it’s the first time you’ve don’t that. It’s most appreciated.

  1. These words from a hymn have helped me to move: “Blow winds of God blow the mist of earth away”.
When inspired I feel this wonderful sense that God is propelling my life forward by removing any negativity or fear.
Then change comes naturally and I feel lifted up on the wings of Love.

  2. This is a gift this morning. Thank you for this gentle guidance in challenging material thinking. I plan to have a move-ing day!

  3. Yes, indeed, our Movement and grace-filled movement is assured: SH 283:4 ~ “Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action.”
Mis 235:18 ~ “Hungering and thirsting after a better life, we shall have it, and become Christian Scientists; learn God aright, and know something of the ideal man, the real man, harmonious and eternal. This movement of thought must push on the ages: it must start the wheels of reason aright, educate the affections to higher resources, and leave Christianity unbiased by the superstitions of a senior period.”

  4. I sent my first post before reading other comments. Thank you everyone for those too. Love the verses in Miscellaneous Writings, Fay.

  5. Yes, thanks for posting on this! Our state of though and consciousness is really “what makes the ‘world go ‘round”. So grateful for your thoughts, quiet study in the mornings to rev up that movement of thought which leads to everlasting , ever reaching change!

  6. Thank you so much Angie for posting that article. I will continue to read and study it. This is a healing message.
Luv to all for all your beautiful remarks.
    Barbara

  7. Thank you Evan! This is the reminder I needed this morning.

I was just thinking about how I keep going “back” to go forward –and it hasn’t worked so far! Go figure. That isn’t moving, it’s spinning.

Have to get out of the rut and onto the road to move forward into spiritual thinking. To experience God’s constant supply of fresh, new ideas – “custom fit”- as we progress.

  8. Evan, Thank you very much for this meaningful and helpful message – today and everyday. I will put it into practice! I also always enjoy the gorgeous scenery in your vlogs. What a treat! Thank you to Kathy, as well, for her excellent photography. Blessings to all.

  9. Thank you Evan. As I read through this week’s Bible lesson it is full of movement and progress. Thanks for your comments so I could see something new in our Bible lesson.

  10. Thank you so much for this today Evan. I have printed off the article too from Angie. Both of which will help me enormously at present. So comforting to read everyone’s spiritual insights on SV. Thanks all.❣️

  11. I think the unique way CS looks at thought is so helpful. People often have the idea that someone
who practices a ‘religion’ is living a rigid, limited life , following all the rules. While there are good ideas, such as be a porter of your thoughts, there are no limits to understanding your relationship with Mind. I sometimes think that if MBE was here today she would still be revising S&H because her thought would be moving. S&H gives us a road map to expand our thought.

  12. Dear SpiritView friends, could any one please write here the last sentence, Evan said in his Vlog up here? I did not understand quite what he said. Thanks in advice. ♡♡♡

    1. Hi Uta, I listened to the last sentence several times and I heard something different than Linda. What I heard Evan say was “Love is that Life. There isn’t anything else.” We may all have heard what we most needed to hear but that was what I heard.

    1. Hi dear Linda, I think what you heard makes most sense. That is it. Thank you very much!
However I thank you too, dear Barbara, and Karen what you heard was right, as well but Evan said that some sentences before of what I wanted to know.
Dear Evan, thank you deeply for your refreshing Vlog of today! Wonderful, to follow Christ demands of us, to move away from all error and materiality and turn around mentally to move with Christ, Truth. Am working on it and am very grateful for God’s great gift of Christian Science!♡

  13. & enjoying this week’s Bible Lesson references to Walking
(& Bible Lens pointing out walking has image of conducting life [‘Enoch WALKED with God’]).
    -love hymn 139
..’Who walks with Love along the way,
    Shall talk with Love & Love & Love obey;
    God’s healing truth is free to all;
    Our Father answers every call;
‘Tis He dispels the clouds of gray
That all may walk with Love today..’

& am so grateful for Evan’s healing message
-‘still, small voice’ lovingly guided my thought after reading this to ‘Love, Love, Love’
-now That’s Movement (away from falling for worry, to Lovingly EMBRACE everyone in recognizing our united kinship as God’s infinite Good, eternally expressed !

  14. Thanks, Evan, for another very timely and needed message. Hymn 148 is one of my favorites. It begins:
    In heavenly love abiding
No change my heart shall fear,
    And safe is such confiding,
    For nothing changes here.
The storm may roar about me,
My heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me,
    And can I be dismayed.
    Wherever He may guide me,
No want shall turn me back,
    My Shepherd is beside me,
    And nothing can I lack.
    His wisdom ever waketh,
    His sight is never dim,
He knows the way he taketh,
And I will walk with Him.
This hymn has been an inspiration and comfort to me for many, many years!

  15. I love that quote, Fay, from Misc., especially “leave Christianity unbiased by the superstitions of a senior period.” Are we as individuals in a senior period? I don’t remember God ever telling us this. What about our church and country? Ditto. We can continually claim our youth, openness to new ideas, the ability to move forward, as Evan so beautifully reminds us. Its our divine nature as Children of an ageless God! Hallelujah!
