Bless those who oppose you

“When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person.”

~ Jesus Christ, Luke 6:28, MSG

Don’t fall into the trap of harboring resentment or seeking revenge. Live true to your God-given demeanor to love without limit. See the truth about that person as a child of God, and maintain a kind and generous attitude toward them. Love heals and harmonizes.

  1. So good…..Thanks, Evan! Not always easy to do…….As Chet Manchester said in a recent online Chat – “Let Love Flow!” I think that means we have to get ourselves, our petty little ego, out of the way and Let the Love of God flow to, thru and as us! Let Go and Let Love!

  2. Thanks Evan…something I really need to work on and try to daily! I needed this today more than ever! I appreciate everything you Blog about because it always hits home with me!

  3. When unkind thoughts are voiced to me I have found it helpful to silently declare “Man is the image of Love and is not being made to express a single quality which doesn’t come from God.”
This sets the tone for silently declaring patient tenderness and appreciation of man’s forever goodness.

  4. I just came away from my son in a bitter arguement where he expressed disrespect toward me which put me in shock. Rather than hate him for .this, I thought of the father who lost is daughter in a bomb explosion in Northern Ireland many years ago and what he said when interviewed by the press. “I show no hatred or evil thoughts towards these men but each day pray that GOD WILL FORGIVE THEM and I did and I do.”

  5. It is sometimes difficult in membership meetings in church, to be loving kind to a member, who has such a different view of the matter. I then try to listen to God for the right idea of the matter discussed about. I also try to glimps the truth that God, Love is filling all space and is in control. At least that calms me – but I think I should have seen that member more as Gods child.
Thank you Evan, for reminding us, to bless those who oppose us. Just that thought was needed this evening, and I should have done better than I did. But I am working to do better next meeting.

  6. I’ve been focusing prayer on loving me and mine and all. Thinking specifically about each of these three categories. Interestingly, the names/situations are different each time I do it.
