Building confidence

Do you ever lack confidence that you can perform a job adequately?
Maybe you tremble when speaking in front of an audience, doubt your ability when tackling a new assignment, or worry about rising to your boss’s expectations?
Whatever the source of fear, it can be eliminated by a deeper understanding that God is doing the doing.
If presenting before a group of co-workers, see God standing in your shoes. If typing out ideas on your computer, see God’s fingers striking the keys. If thinking about how to approach the next assignment, see God thinking the thoughts.
God is all! There is no experience, presentation, assignment or project successfully finished outside of God’s allness.
When we fear our abilities, we’ve forgotten that God is all. We’ve become a god unto ourselves, thinking that we have to figure out the project, that we have to make the presentation, and that we have to type out the ideas. The remedy is to worship the one God, infinite divine Mind that gives the best presentation, comes up with the best ideas and gets the job done with superior results.
God is infinite Love and does not literally “stand in your shoes.” But as a child of God, the divine presence does “stand in your shoes.” You are never alone. God expresses intelligence through you. God expresses wisdom, understanding and brilliant ideas through you.
Let God do what God does best! Prosper you!
See God as doing the doing, and you’ll have all the confidence you need to bring out shining results.

“But blessed are those who trust in the LORDand have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jer. 17:7,8, NLT

  1. Dear Evan,

Thank you very much for this wonderful illustration of God standing in my shoes and also seeing God thinking the thoughts! I need to stand before a judge in Family Court to transfer Guardianship of our 11 yr old Great-grandson from one state to our state as my Mother has passed. We have no lawyer. I know that God is All and is caring for all of His dear children, including the Judge.

Spiritview is a very nice addition to my metaphysical work and I thank you ever so much.

  2. Evan, this happened to me just last week. When I write a comment on the C/S Daily Lifts, I can’t wait to see it accepted. You might say, I pat humanly on my back when that happens. Then it came, 2 of them. They weren’t accepted for reasons that weren’t explained to me. Well, I got to feel let down and I was going to give up on it. Days passed and it still bugged me until I took the attitude that the inspiration to write a comment didn’t come from me but from God. Then after days of praying for humility, I wrote the 2 comments that were previously rejected in an whole different way and they were accepted.

    1. Just what I needed as I have been working to stay above what has appeared to be an overwhelming week filled emotions and reactions. Thank you.

  3. I wish to thank you for these very timely, for me, words. It can be such a trap to think that we are personal creators struggling to come up with new ideas or different ways of approaching challenges that come up. This is a good article to help dump the trash in thought!
