Complementary, rather than incompatible

December 13, 2022 | 20 comments

If you’re ever tempted to think you are incompatible with another person, and they are someone you need to work with, it might help to think in terms of how you complement each other. Look for their gifts and talents, rather than focusing on perceived shortcomings.

We are all God’s children, members of one grand family of Love. The members of this family reflect the individuality of God, so no one individual is the same as another. Each has something special and unique to offer. Yet, these family members are not designed to conflict with each other because of their special talents and gifts. They are meant to complement each other.

We prosper with others when we see and appreciate what the other can give. How do their gifts complement our gifts? Then we find common ground on which to work together as one.

As the Bible says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1). In the one Mind of Love, all of God’s creation is compatible. One blessed child of God complements another.

  1. TRUE GIVING, NOT JUST AT CHRISTMAS

I gave my friend a present,
It cost me quite a lot,
    But with so many others
    In time it was forgot.

God gave to us His present:
    His true begotten Son.
The Christ He gave to all
    And Love blessed everyone.

Oh teach me God Your message,
    That I may truly live:
    The bestest present ever,-
It’s me that I must give.

When we love our neighbour as ourselves, we also follow the first commandment, and reflect the infinity of Our Father………

    1. Thank you for your fine poem Ken. In seeking a deeper meaning to this season it was suggested to me to re-watch last year’s Christmas Eve Talk which was livestreamed by Third Church NYC. I did so last night and there were some really powerful gems of truth in it that hit me anew, even though I had listened to it last year. For instance, he actually proves scientifically why Christmas never began and never ends and so is not a once a year thing.

  2. That’s lovely, Ken – thank you. I love the way you put that we have “the bestest present ever, –
It’s me that I must give.”

So we don’t need to spend hours walking around the shops looking
for costly, or even other less costly material goods to bring joy to
our fellow man in giving them gifts. We just need to give love
to everyone, and this does more good and gives more joy than any
    material object could.

  3. Thank you Evan as always so helpful with what’s going on in my life.
Also thank you Ken for your wonderful Poems. Do I have permission to share these with others?
    Thank you to all!

  4. Thank you Evan. Thank you Ken. This SpiritView would have been very beneficial to me sixty ago when I was married to my 1st wife. Now after being married to my 2nd wife 44 years I find each year more precious. We have our differences but we do complement each other.

    1. Hi Dennis, I related to what you said. My husband and I definitely have our differences but we also do complement each other in many ways. Growing in spiritual understanding helps a lot in seeing others (and ourselves) as expressions of God and to remember to look beyond the surface and see what He put in each of us.

I learned from another SpiritViewer and always remember this thought: –One idea of God cannot harm or disturb another idea of God, but can only be a blessing to each other. (This was from dear Uta). I’ve used this truth many times and in many situations with good results.

  5. This message is truly transidental. It cuts through all kinds of relationships. Once we uphold a single good quality in another we find love grow. Thank you Evan and every member of this Spirit view family.

  6. In at least, we have once source, joined through life and experience. Know we that divine love accompanies all being as having a divine source.

  7. Yes Josef thanks, that is what we learn in Christian Science, that all people as God`s creation have one divine source that is always present with us all!

Thank you very much, Evan for your utmost helpful and blessing SpiritView today. For me it meets my needs of thinking about others to see them in Love who express wonderful qualities being very compatible with mine and with all others, too. God governs and is in control of all relationships; that`s what I think when I seemingly have problems with others I have to work together in church or anywhere.
Thank you all for your inspired comments!

  8. Those are some powerful words Evan! You got me thinking about the true universal family.

Sometimes when evil or negativity in my family seems so overwhelming, I have little strength left at times to see them in their true light and make a visible change. The best I can do if I dig deep is to simply realize that I am malpracticing on them, and just simply stop if that’s all I can do.

The thought of malpracticing on my immediate family members is abhorrent to me, but you got me thinking about the world at large! There too, at times maybe the best I can do is to simply stop malpracticing on the world family if I can’t reach that quiet place to realize the truth.

Ie, instead of ignoring it, just realize what I am doing and STOP. It’s a start. The thought just occurred, when thinking about family, don’t forget to include yourself! I never really thought about malpracticing on myself much either!

Thanks for bringing that thought home Evan!

  9. This is from a testimony that someone had written: “Thinking someone is selfish, dishonest, etc. is a misconception of God’s man, since God created all of His children in His likeness. This belief was nothing but a false suggestion of mortal mind, a mind opposed to God claiming there are many minds that can be in conflict. But there is one God, one Mind, governing man harmoniously. There are no “little minds” with power of their own to control or disturb. Hold to these truths and let them govern our thoughts. It’s waking up to the fact that we don’t have to deal with a neighborhood, work or family issue; but simply need to get out of the way and leave it to God. Having peace in knowing that divine Truth and Love resolve every situation in the best way for everyone.”

      1. Yes, thank you J, that`s really the best way demonstrating namely to let and let God alone do the demonstration and healing! That is really comforting and peacebringing!
Oh am very grateful for this blessing SpiritView blog and its lovely community .)
