Many people are concerned about the spread of the delta variant of the coronavirus. The medical authorities say the variant is more aggressive and dangerous than its predecessor.
In Christian Science, it doesn’t matter what variation mortal mind comes up with to describe a threat to mankind’s health and safety, the threat is always addressed in the same way. As Jesus Christ, a master healer, taught, “Know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, NLT).
The variant is another opportunity to know the truth about God’s government of our health.
Health is a fixed constant in our being as children of God. It’s not a variable that changes according to physical conditions around us. It’s a permanent quality that we forever express as God’s image in action.
In truth, the delta variant has no more power or influence than its predecessor. A zero is a zero no matter what size the zero is drawn. And zero + you = you, all the same. A zero never changes any number it is added to. The number remains unaffected.
As a child of God, an expresser of eternal spiritual health, the variant is no threat to you. Have no fear of it, and prove it powerless. Know the truth that keeps you free!
What a great way to begin the week Evan. Thank you. We cannot become complacent with or devotion to the spiritual protection and freedom which is ours to experience.

I love this assurance from Christ Jesus… “nothing shall by any means hurt you”. (Luke 10:19). That covers everything!

The full verse is:
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
The serpents/scorpions/enemy are a loud and shouting, but powerless, error, animal magnetism, the zero with no rim, as so well stated by kathyw below. We have all power from God to tread on (stomp or step on, and crush) error, so lets keep treading!

Our political climate has turned to fear to justify its power of decision making but the results therefrom are not consistent with the solutions of spiritual thoughtfulness guided by the divine power of love. Fear is a hesitant governor compared to the diligence and comprehensiveness divine guidance found in Spirit. The double mindedness of reaction from scientific baseless conjecture is wanton disregard for true public health found only in spirit.

Thank you Evan for your daily insights that you share so generously with us all. I have one I would like to share. Once there was a cat who made his daily rounds throughout my neighborhood looking to be fed. And everyone fed him including me. At first he was happy to get the food I offered and gulped it down but eventually he was so well fed that he began discriminating as to what food he would eat. He would come to my back door and I’d set the food out. If he didn’t like it he would go around to my front door as if to say, “Hi. I’m a different cat. Got anything else?.” Of course I knew it was the same cat just at a different door and I was never fooled. Eventually he realized this didn’t work and he gave up and became my cat and stopped wandering door to door. The lesson of this cat, who I named Cassini because he was like the space Voyager Cassini traveling around, has become an analogy for me about viruses. I learned first off don’t name the cat or the virus or give it an identity. It will attempt to make the rounds where it is fed with fear by the general public. When the fear dissipates and begins losing its punch it turns up again with a new name and a deadlier description. But it’s really like the cat saying, “Hi. I’m a different, more aggressive virus. Feed me with your fear.” I have learned to say, “No. Different door, same old error.” No matter what form evil presents itself, it is still only a hypnotic illusion and we all have the God-given right to,
“Dismiss it with an abiding conviction that it is illegitimate, because you know that God is no more the author of sickness than He is of sin.”(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 390:21–23) Error (zero) may try to enter through many doors but eventually gives up from not being fed and never returns.
Oh Karen, this is such a delightful story, one which really illustrates what is going on! Just brilliant! Such a great story with a deep, meaningful interpretation. I have had a similar “relationship” with a cat – front door, back door with woefully demanding looks. After some seven !!! years I just recently became the wiser, taking your approach. To use your analogy, I no longer dash to the doors to wait on “error.”

When I heard this term “variant,” I immediately thought of the Bible verse from James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” God does not vary, so the good He establishes cannot vary.
Nothing can change the facts of Being. All is Well under the care of God, good, He guides, guards and governs His dear children every moment as we go on expressing Him alone.. Who or what can overturn His word?

My Mom always said, “Error is just a zero with the rim rubbed off” in other words, nothing at all.
Scare, scare, scare…fear, fear, fear…That’s all the medical and media knows to throw at us. And they will continue to do this until “we the people” stand up strong and speak out loud against this evil. “why stand aghast at nothingness?’ MBE Error will scream louder and louder until it is silenced by God’s Truth.
