Dispense with the struggle

February 9, 2022 | 51 comments

Does life feel like a struggle, a constant battle with evil forces that don’t seem to abate? If so, there’s a spiritual way out of that strife.

See yourself from a spiritual point of view.

As a child of God, you are not a mortal struggling with material conditions. You are an immortal thriving in Spirit.

Point of view is everything!!

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 492).

When you reason out from spiritual existence, you see spiritual reality. You find spiritual health, joy, and happiness. They are part of who you are as a spiritual creation of God.

Struggle comes from believing one is mortal and must fight for survival. But we are not mortal. We are immortal.

Immortals reflect the power and presence of God by nature. That’s the way God made them and keeps them. That’s the way God made you and keeps you!

Immortals are spiritual. You are spiritual.

It’s not a struggle to be spiritual. It’s a joy.

  1. ONE MIND…ALL KNOWING…this is exactly what I
need to pray with as well…and most likely many others are grateful as I am this morning to be awakened to this! Thank you, Evan!

  2. Thanks Evan:
I need to affirm this spiritual Truth that I’m a child of God and not mere mortal
Mortal struggling each day with thoughts which are not from God.Mrs Eddy in her writings showed us this way to stand portal at the door of thought.admitting only what is right.

  3. So grateful for these daily messages, especially lately.
My mother just passed on to new adventures, so I have been embracing deeper opportunities to really stay with Spirit only. The picture this morning brought such comfort. What a blessing. Thank you!

    1. Bless you, CS! Your Father-Mother Spirit, Soul, is embracing you and your mom in Her everlasting arms of Love, today and always.

    2. Hi CS, on Evan’s blog from Feb. 3rd, 2022, Annie had a comment that really resonated with me. She said, “Our loved ones reside eternally in Love and we are together.” What a wonderful thought and truth!

  4. Thank you, Evan ❤️
All our human trials do help us go to God, where we really are all the time, with the “everlasting arms of Love, are beneath, around, above…”
How very grateful I am to be learning – and knowing- the great comfort we have ftom our Comforter.
The picture of the child making the snow angel is perfect!

    1. Translated your comment, just loving the words expressed in French. To add to your flow, there is ONE place in Psalms which I’ve discovered that expresses the truth in ” Psalms: 61: 1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” THANK you for all you shared,

  6. Our weapons cannot be their weapons for we fight differently than they do. Our weapons are love, grace, compassion, truth, principle, knowledge of spiritual understanding, wisdom, purity, faith. Our fight is no fight at all, but the pouring out of blessings enlightening the experience to that which is possible for those who can see it not. Our warfare is in reality, no warfare at all but the recognition and demonstration of faith in a all knowing, all present, all powerful God, deserving of our admiration and worship.

  7. Romans 8:37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

I awakened feeling very uplifted at 8am, after being up from 1am until 3:30 am trying to hand over my burdens to God. (Agaaaain) My 1st thought this morning was of Evan and how he lives the pure demonstration of this being God’s Kingdom. I have been challenged by and I have been seeing this very challenge:
“Does life feel like a struggle, a constant battle with evil forces that don’t seem to abate?” among many lifted Christian Scientists most recently. We know what “it” is but “it” would so cunningly convince us that we can’t possibly overcome a seeming power greater than good. It absolutely is, all ways, bottom line: False Evidence Appearing Real. Although very real, I’ve got an acronym for the word real; Reality Eliminates All Lies. For the Kingdom IS our only True reality. We MUST stand porter at the door. Yes, friends, this IS war!! Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.” Psalm 34:17
When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it. Yes!

    1. Amen, the struggle to stand upright, pure and free is attacked. Unreal, but cunning in its “seeming power”. An awakening using the acronym REAL was very helpful. I thank you for sharing the awakening you faced at 1 am -3:30 am.

  8. The word, infrastructure, came
    to thought. The word, functionality
    was in the definition.

    Divinely structured in God’s Allness,
    we function from divine Mind,
    immortality, not from a so-called
    mortal basis.
    Allness, shows, Oneness to be
    our divine, sonship.
    We are, All/One.

  9. Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 492).

I was just reading this quote earlier today and had a very similar thought process to what you share in today’s post. Thanks for the reinforcement!

    1. Never wanting to miss those links, Angie. Thank You V. M.
They always compliment S V & every one is blessed.

  10. Back again.

This morning I made an acronym.
    Law, Love always wins.
Not in a human sense, but
    divide actually.

It came to thought because of
    a granddaughter applying to
Law School. I sent it to her.
Love/God places us in our right place.

Thanks, Love for yours this morning.
I knew someone named, Love. ♥️

    1. Thanks again M. The acronym for Law you shared is very helpful to me. (=

Thank you too Evan! I needed that encouragement. Most grateful for SpiritView. (=

  11. I am at times amazed when God provides.
I often think of a practitioner whose name escapes me at the moment, who said something
such as God is so thoughtful he even provides a saucer under your cup.
We do not have a sense often as to how complete God’s care is, even in the small details.

  12. Well, I was so out of step!!! Thank you for the point of view that speaks for itself, I don’t wven have to. Great! But I will praise God.

  13. My brother is in the hospital, and I am knowing he can’t be separated from the atmosphere of of’ Love divine no matter what material evidence claims. That is for all of us.
Thanks for the helpful message and comments.

    1. Jane, you are knowing just the right thing. Nothing can pluck him out of the Father’s hand, nor separate your brother from his absolute oneness with health, perfect harmony, fearless comfort, and all-embracing Love. Sending best thoughts! Ypi ate on a hood place too – Evan’s blog is so healing!

  14. I awoke this morning thinking about how I was going to handle several challenges before me. Then, reached for my phone to see what Evan was offering today on SpiritView. So perfect❣️ “Dispense with the struggle.” Very interesting as this thought dovetailed so well with Mrs. Eddy’s statement from Science and Health in last week’s lesson, which I had been pondering. “We shall obey and adore in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature and love Him understandingly, warring no more over the corporeality, but rejoicing in the affluence of our God.”
It pointed out to me that I was spending too much time “warring” instead of “rejoicing in the affluence of our God.” .

So grateful for the thoughts and love expressed by everyone❣️

  15. Angie dear, – once again, thank you for your faithful and skillful research resulting in your post of Evan’s powerful article “Escape to Reality”. And Evan, thank you for the great blessing we all receive from the tangible proof of the efficacy of Christian Science treatment so lovingly shared in your article.

  16. Absolutely excellent Evan.
    Thank you so very much❣️

How blessed I feel to be in the company of all who share their thoughts.

I gather strength and feel very grateful.

  17. Thank you for this topic Evan. I do at times feel like things are a struggle. But I try to remember that as the loved children of God, enveloped in one divine Mind, there is actually nothing for us to struggled with or against. That would imply two, us and something outside of God that we are struggling against. But there are not two powers, just One, all good, all peace.

As Evan said, “It’s not a struggle to be spiritual, it’s a joy.” Love you all!

  18. Wonderful comments everyone, and an amazing article by Evan!
    – Do we see ourselves as human beings trying to get rid of problems, or are we identifying with – and as – God’s perfect creation, which doesn’t include a problem?
    – The only source for evil is mistaken thought…evil is a mistaken view, not the natural way of things. When we seem to see evil, it is our reminder to tune in even more to ask God, “What do you see?” And to listen. (Christie Hanzlik)
    – God did not create evil, nor does His allness allow another power or substance to exist.

  19. Wow, wonderful dear Evan, how understandable you give us the real spiritual meaning of our being; right now, not lazer, no struggling , just expressing our loving Father-Mother God, Spirit, in everything we do! Thank you very dearly, Evan, for these
    comforting and healing spiritual views!
Am also so grateful for these lively commentations!♡

  20. Friends and fellow church members started getting weird emails and photos purported to be from me. My internet provider confirmed my email has been hacked. It is an important part of my identity in that it links me to legal and financial affairs besides all the people I communicate with in this way. I have been struggling with affirming that my identity as God’s reflection is complete and nothing exists that can invade, divide, change, dominate, besmirch it,, and so on. This spirit view makes me see that I can’t be put in a position to have to have such a struggle. So helpful!
