Today’s post reminds me of a mantra I learned in the days when my employer sent me on training courses “failing to prepare is preparing to fail”. I find this is as applicable to daily early study of CS as to life in the business world (although I think “fail” is too harsh).
Thank you Evan for the wonderful inspiration you provide every day, and to my lovely SpiritView family for your great contributions.
This is a wonderful reminder to prepare the soil of our thoughts for the planting of seeds of Love Truth Life Principle Soul Mind Spirit to bear fruit in our lives. Thank you Evan and all who share on SpiritView – I am deeply grateful.
It has been said to me “Do your best, and God will
do the rest”.
I find that very reassuring, as we can
but do our best as far as we understand the spiritual
truth we are praying for.. So we do not then have to
feel that we are failing, or that we are stuck. There
is always a way forward when we look in the right
direction for it – i.e. to the risen Christ Then when our prayers are answered, we will have prepared ourselves, and strengthened our spiritual understanding for whatever challenges we may find ourselves facing next.
We just need to remember that we are already perfect, and that our job is to face down the illusions
with the spiritual facts – our God-given dominion –
and rejoice that we have risen with Christ in each
demonstration we make.
Maggie, thank you for, “Do your best and God will do the rest.” I had to use this kind of thinking recently while preparing for two big things happening right around the same time, an important family meal/event and preparing the annual income taxes. Here in the US, the deadline for submitting forms/payment is today, April 15. I was getting overwhelmed about both tasks and feeling a lot of “time” pressure, my thinking was foggy and not at all spiritual. I had to turn everything over to God and I wrote the following on an index card:
“I don’t know how to get all this done on “time,” God. But I know I have the divine right to feel calm, peaceful and orderly, and I have the divine right to not feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Help me, show me each step, each moment. Thank you God.”
Coming back to that statement many times over several days was calming and reassuring. All was well with the taxes and the event.
I Love this!! So beautiful and inspiring and true. The first thing that came to
mind is hymn #3:
“A grateful heart a garden is, Where there is always room
For every lovely Godlike grace To come to perfect bloom
A grateful heart a fortress is, A stanch and rugged tower
Where God’s omnipotence, revealed, Girds man with mighty power
A grateful heart a temple is, A shrine so pure and white,
Where angels of His presence keep Calm watch by day or night
Grant them, dear Father – Mother, God, Whatever else befall
This largess of a grateful heart That loves and blesses all.”
I so much needed this today! Thank you dear Evan and Everyone.
Carol, I love this hymn. Today I was talking to a friend that was having challenges. We talked about being grateful and how that alone can lift our spirits and bring about healing.
She loved it. I now sent her this hymn!
Awww … that is sweet dear, syl. Being grateful does have a way
of lifting our spirits. Thank you for your comment and I’m glad
you found the hymn mentioned helpful to you and your friend.
Thank you Maggie for your so true comment and Carol for the beautiful hymn # 3. And I need this all very much, as well today!
The first this Morning, when I read this SpiritView I thought, wow, I can only do my best, when I fill my consciousness with Truth and Love through studying the weekly lesson sermon and then listen and follow God’s loving and wise guidance by expressing God’s qualities in all my neccessary doings.
Thanks all so much for the inspiring, helpful comments!♡
Thank you very much, Evan, for this short but very important and profound SpiritView today!♡
I love the photo above! As I planted pansies yesterday, I was feeling full of gratitude for the warm rays of the sun as they touched the happy faces of the pansies. Even as we got a bit of snow during the night, they bounced right back! We too bounce back from challenges as we feel God’s warm embrace. The prepared soil is our study of God’s power and grace.
The first thing I do each morning is read Spiritview. It kicks off my day!
Thanks, Maggie, for your thoughtful comments.
Dee
Thanks Dee for your touching and lovely comment. Two weeks ago I planted 5 plants of pansies into a large pot to stand on my front porch, which looks beautiful – just nice for Easter.
First when I awake in the morning, just after 8 am, I read SpiritView. I’m very grateful for those spiritually awakening thoughts in the morning! ❤️
I also planted pansies yesterday and when I went to do so found a little volunteer Johnny Jump Up already with a little bllom shining its little face towards the sun. Why am I not surprised that God had already done what he was leading me to do. Happy upcoming Easter to everyone. .
Thank you all for your comments—especially Rubi’s comment of “failing to prepare is preparing to fail”. This helps not just with Christian Science but in other parts of life. I am singing in a choir. We have just three rehearsals left before our concert with some very hard music. I will now start practicing and doing my part so we don’t fail. Thank you Evan and all.
Hello Ginger, I too sing in a choir, a new experience for me. Challenging yet so uplifting at the final moment of being of stage with everyone singing our hearts out. At times i wondered if I’m in my right place as at times I doubt my abilities to sing the right notes. However, have you noticed how often the word SING comes up in the lessons! No doubt that is my answer…GO SING unto the Lord!!!! I now am working on going on a singing tour with this choir…wow! Keep singing Ginger! I too like what Rubi said, “failing to prepare is preparing to fail”…just like the virgins preparing for their bridegrooms……they were ready as we are ready to sing for the audience with joy!
Very grateful to Evan for these inspiring lessons! You are amazing Evan!!!!!!

I love your phrase “We have risen with Christ in each demonstration we make.” A lovely way to feel during this Easter season! Thank you.
