One of the glorious teachings of Christian Science is its clear explanation that all good is spiritual, having its origin and location in God.  Health, life, vision, hearing, understanding, strength, energy, purpose, value, worth, all originate in Spirit and remain in Spirit.  We find ourselves expressing these qualities through the body but the body does not contain these qualities or originate them.  They derive from Spirit, remain in Spirit, and keep coming from Spirit to us as children of God, now and forever.  We never lose them, and they can never be destroyed by matter, for matter is not the source or manager of them.  God is!  The spiritual goodness of God is forever ours to express and enjoy.

Which brings me to a thought-provoking statement by Mary Baker Eddy, “The only power of evil is to destroy itself.  It can never destroy one iota of good” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 186).  It follows that disease cannot destroy health, for health is spiritual.  Age cannot deprive us of vision, for vision has nothing to do with age.  It’s spiritual, sustained by divine Mind.  Anger cannot destroy love, for God is Love, and Love knows no anger.  The only destruction evil can wreak is against itself.  It can never touch the goodness of God which is immortal.

So, harbor no fear of evil.  Find your All-in-all in the goodness of God, in Spirit, where your goodness is safe and secure now and forever.  

Evil is no threat to God’s goodness, anymore than darkness is a threat to light.  The Light of God shines on to evil’s demise.
