Expel the lies

I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.

~ Psalms 101:7 NLT

To understand the metaphysical significance of this verse, think of “house” as your mental house.  The passage emphasizes how important it is to keep the lies and deceits of mortal mind out of our thinking.

Lies such as, “You are going to get sick today, you are not talented enough to do the job, someone is going to trip you up, things are going to go bad,” are part and parcel of mortal mind’s flood of lies and deceits coming for no reason at all, except to catch us off guard.  The lesson is to be wise and keep them out of our mental house!

Let no lie of mortal mind hang around in your mental home.  Reject them promptly!

You are a child of God, and have a beautiful, intelligent, healthy, and happy life to be living.  God gives you what you need to live this life, but we can’t be partnering with evil thoughts, agreeing with them, and experiencing the goodness of God at the same time.  We need to keep our mental home clean of the lies and deceits of mortal mind that would otherwise rob us of what is rightly ours.

Keep a clean house, a clean mental house!  Kick out the lies of mortal mind.  Align with Truth and Love.  And prosper.

  1. Thank you Evan for this great reminder to stay on top of our mental housecleaning chores. So important. Love the eviction notice in the photo above, OUT! with those lies. This line stood out to me, “…we can’t be partnering with evil thoughts, agreeing with them, and experiencing the goodness of God at the same time.”

It reminds me a bit of yesterday’s discussion, in which we learned about how to be better listeners to what God is saying to us.

Thanks again for the video from your dear Sunday School young ladies, please tell them how much we all learned from their presentation. So precious and heartfelt.

  2. It came to my thought the other day that deciet depends upon the truth for its deception. Without the truth the deceiver would have no basis for its lie. It wants us to think that it, too, can be true but without the foundation for being so. “From whence cometh Satan?” From nowhere for Satan has no eternality – no where to exist, but the temporal supposition purpose of belief. We are tempted to believe that error or evil or Satan could be something when it is and will always be nothing.

  3. One is reminded of MBE’s admonition to “stand porter at the door of thought”. Don’t start thinking the worst. Start thinking the best because God’s goodness is ever present even though it’s unfoldment can sometimes seem a little bitter and hard to take to human sense.

  4. Thank you so much, Evan for this powerful thought and Truth. And bless everyone for their helpful comments. I am new in CS and everyone is so loving and helpful.

  5. Thank you Evan.
I meet erroneous thoughts with a firm “Get thee behind me Satan”, sometimes out loud! Works for me every time.

Blessings raining down on all continuously

  6. Sometimes the lies of mortal mind’s “thinking” are so blatant and
obvious, we recognize them right away as something to be outed
from our mental house. Other times they are more covert and clever,
stealthily trying to creep into thought and corrupt our childlike, innocent,
spiritual way of living a happy life … . a life free of inharmonious persuasions
that would try to sway our mind from the One Mind/God into many
little minds that would make a god out of mortals or materiality. In trying
to realize that there is only One Reality, our mental home is filled with the
Truth of real and lasting divine Love and peace and that is such a joyous
    way to be.

  7. Vacationing with family I awoke in the middle of the night with all the symptoms of a sore throat .I thought ‘I’m not going to ruin this trip’ & mentally objected with a ‘loud’ ‘NO, NO!’ I went to sleep & awakened the next morning perfectly well. BUT mortal mind wasn’t satisfied as a cough came on the next night. Again, the same mental ‘NO, NO!’ put an end to it & the rest of our stay was a joyful time. I may have written about this on past Spiritviews but the ‘OUT!’ sign above reminded me of how powerful that can be so thought it was worth a repeat.
