Some people don’t like themselves. They find many faults to criticize, shortcomings to dwell on and reasons to feel down about who they are and what they project toward others. But this should not be! Each of us have an incredibly awesome individuality to reflect and enjoy.
This individuality is not in a physical body. It has nothing to do with your weight, height, angular outline of your nose, posture or condition of your skin. It’s all about expressing God’s presence.
When you express love, you are living true to your individuality. When you are honest, sincere, forgiving, kind, generous, forthcoming with help, patient and happy, you are living true to your real self. And it’s a beautiful self!
People love to be loved. People of integrity appreciate people who are honest and ethical. The world needs more people who are kind and generous. When you focus on the substance of your real self, you will find much to fall in love with and to be grateful for.
Anything negative is not your real self. Any type of condemnation of self or others is the anti-thesis of you. Any type of harsh judgment, belittlement, disparagement, snobbery, self-righteousness, pride, self-indulgent ego, or uppity-ness is not you. Feeling sorry for yourself, self-pity, or woe-is-me attitude is not you. It’s the opposite of you.
The real you is the spiritual you, the God-made you, that abounds with unconditional love and unqualified appreciation for all the good in yourself and in others around you.
The real you is absolutely beautiful! It’s a delight to behold and bear witness to.
The real you is a joy to be around. It is excellent company and desirable companionship.
The real you is healthy, well and strong, abounding in good works, and not wasting a moment commiserating in error.
The real you is a perfect you, exactly what God made the moment He conceived you.
Rejoice in the real you, and be quick to disassociate with anything less. Fall in love with the “you” of God’s creating and see how wonderful you’ve been all along.

This reminds me that our lives are daily being transformed by Christ living within each one of us in Spirit. It is like the Apostle Paul said in the Bible at Galatians 2:20 (kjv):
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. “

Right on! Learning to look at ourselves as God sees us is a very important step to loving others because it is exactly that love that we can express to others of God’s loving them. God given identity! What a freeing way to view ourselves and all mankind. Each one God conceived and designed. Identity has nothing to do with skin color, gender, financial status, education, location, age. Identity is our individual expression of our Creator. Our own divine design, individually expressed as individual man (used generically). To know ourselves in this way frees us from genetics,suspicion of others unlike us, envy, and all limitations of thinking of ourselves as material. I prayed with this idea much of yesterday and into the night, and was amazed to see your blog this morning. Continuing my prayer about true identity with your helpful thoughts, thanks, Evan!

Thank you. I should start each day reading this. How helpful this is to see our spiritual selves and destroy the mortal lies about us.
This is powerful on so many levels. How many times does the thought slip through my consciousness that “I am sick” or “I have pain”. I’ve been reflecting on the idea of the 7 carnal sins, and I see today that every time I entertain the idea that I am gluttonous, slothful, or am not honest (especially to myself); whenever I reflect on a day and say that the good that I would do, I do not and the evil that I would not; it is that which I do…that it is all a lie, and no part of me. The armor of God has a teflon sheen. Not only is it the most powerful defence against evil’s greatest attacks, but it also doesn’t let slung mud stick.
To fall in love with the real me!!
I really laughed when I saw that title, because that hadn’t been an attitude of mine. It’s not long ago that I started looking for the real me and trusting it.
