Find the best rest

July 18, 2017 | 12 comments

“The highest and sweetest rest, even from a human standpoint, is in holy work.”

~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 519

The best rest is not unconsciousness, but consciousness of heavenly and uplifting thoughts. When your thoughts are engaged with holy work of knowing God’s presence, you will find peace and deep rest.

Holy work is knowing the truth about God, believing in God’s power to produce good results, and trusting in the divine power to protect, guard and guide you in all ways.

Doubt, angst, fear, tension, and any kind of stress dissolve in the presence of holy work.

True rest doesn’t come from a chemical or pill purchased at the store. It’s a spiritual state of Mind that naturally belongs to every child of God. And you are one of those beloved children of God!

You don’t have to reach for something outside of your spiritual self and God to find rest. Go to Truth with your thought, engage in the holy work on knowing the truth about you and your perfect relationship to the Divine, and rest peacefully day and night.

  1. Does anyone else see the icons for FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest on the left side of the page covering part of the message?

    1. Hi Carole, I see these icons covering part of the message if I use my tablet. I have to scroll up or down to read the message a little at a time either above or below the icons. However, If I use my desktop, it’s fine, and the icons do not cover any of the message.

        1. Hmm…I’m not sure what to reply. On my IPAD, the positioning is perfect with no coverage. It looks just like on my desktop. I wonder if it has to do with the size of your tablet? Maybe it’s a smaller screen than my IPAD? I’m not sure. Unless it’s an Android issue…

  2. Hi Carole. I get SpiritView as an app on my phone and the icons appear at the top of the page under the picture.

  3. Thank you so so much dear Evan for today`s SpiritView. Just what I need.
Its much needed specially because of the fact that we find the real rest through spiritual conciousness instead of material remedies.

I am very grateful for Christian Science, teaching us the spiritual truth of everything we need.

We do engage in the holy work on knowing the truth about us and our perfect relationship to our God, Love already when we study the weekly lesson sermon every morning. It is uplifting and refreshing for the day.
MBE said in one of her writings, that we shall never start doing our daily duties without having been fed by spiritual nurishment. I find that so loving. 🙂

  4. Thank you Evan. I’m finding this to be so true and like to see others feel the same way. Sharing Spiritview is a treasured gift.

  5. It is so refreshing to know that God is Spirit and we are His Daughters and Sons, forever manifesting that likeness.
    Love to all,
    Sally
