Finding peace

February 20, 2026 | 20 comments

If you’re looking for more peace in your life, consider the promise of this verse from Psalms 85:10; “Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.”

Righteousness is right thinking, spiritual thinking, that acknowledges God to be the one and only power at work throughout the universe causing good things to happen.

Righteousness is Love inspired living.  It’s compassion, patience, forgiveness, kindness, thoughtfulness and care in action.

Righteousness is Truth based thinking, manifest as honesty and integrity.

Righteousness is morality and spirituality.

Righteousness is spiritual mindedness.

As the Psalmist promises, righteousness creates peace, for a right state of mind is a peaceful state of mind.

Righteousness and peace are best friends.  Cozy up to them both and enjoy their good company.

    1. Dear J, thank you very much for sharing with us these awesome testimonies by Anna Jean Wait! That demonstrates that God is really our only true physishen; and that indeed all things are possible with God, divine Love!
Dear Evan, thank you very much for this wonderful and healing topic “finding Peace through Righteouness”. I do ponder it , as I am working it out to express more orderliness in all my matters. Prayerfully we can listen to God’s guidance in all our errands. I I’m very grateful for such a loving theme for this weekend. ❤️

      1. Thank you dear Uta. I too desire to express more orderliness, in my home environment (also known as de-cluttering) as well as in my thoughts and actions. Orderliness is a quality of God, so it is our divine right to know we can express it.

        1. Thank you dear Rose; and I love your asuring explanation, that it is our divine right to know we. c a n. express it, that we can express divine orderliness, also in our mental home! ❤️

      2. Thank you dear Uta. I too desire to express more orderliness, in my home environment (also known as de-cluttering) as well as in my thoughts and actions. Orderliness is a quality of God, so it is our divine right to know we can express it.

        1. “Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
          Till all our strivings cease;
Take from us now the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
          The beauty of Thy peace.”
(John Greenleaf Whittier, CS Hymn No. 49)

          1. Thank yu, Cheryl Anne – this is a perfect hymn for
this topic. When we drop personal striving, we begin
to find our peace and righteousness as part of our
            natural being in God’s likeness.

  1. Thanks Evan
“ causing good things to happen”
Wishing today, everyone plenty of happiness, God the Eternal is in the moment!

  2. Thank you Evan. I’ve heard righteousness described as, being in right relationship with God. This matches the way you describe it, as an understanding of God good as the only power operating in the universe, and us as His reflection. It’s very humbling and induces a sense of Peace.

  3. One of my goals for this year is to read the entire New Testament. I am reading the book of Romans today. In Chapter 5 of Romans, Paul of explaining Abraham and that he was credited by God for his righteousness. Today’s SpiritView on righteousness definitely helps me identify more closely with Abraham’s righteousness. Thank you Evan.

  4. These words of wisdom on righteousness are very comforting and
do bring peaceful thoughts to mind. The word – right – enclosed
within the word righteousness is the perfect guide. We do want
to do what is right. Starting as a child, we mostly learn right from
wrong and doing right is so much more rewarding. As adults the
same applies and as children of God, we are more peaceful when
leaning towards the Truth as we see ourselves and others in a spiritual
image and all of the blessings listed by Evan above, does help us find
    peace.
