For world peace, have one God

April 21, 2022 | 23 comments

One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.

~Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 340

  1. Thanks dear Evan. That is the toppic for this year’s Annual Meeting of TMC. A very comforting passage!
I just read, that probably the town Mariupol is under the control of Russia.
Immediately i thought and knew, that cannot be, as the allmighty and everpresent God, Good is in total control of His whole universe , his precious huge creation!
Thanks to God for Christian Science that teaches us the Truth!♡

  2. Thank you Evan for bringing the omnipotent truth to bear on our thought. We see the need of our brothers and supply that need with powerful thinking. Prayers will cause peace among the nations.
There’s only one loving, powerful mind. Every Christian soldier is a warrior in the battle. Good thoughts are a peaceful solution for all discord. Reverse the course of destruction. Build a loving atmosphere. It’s within reach.

  3. This is the most wonderful statement of the Allness and Oneness of of God, and the perfection of His Creation. It sets out how just One infinite God, good, includes and explains His perfect government of all that is real and eternal.

As we accept this amazing statement as the only reality, and
prove it through keeping the Laws of God and letting Him
govern everything through His Law of Love, I believe that our prayers
can be really powerful in helping to bring the Truth to light.

As we know that God is Almighty, we know that evil is just a lie,
and has no power at all. If evil seems to be bombarding
the innocent, we can know that all it is really doing is
destroying its false conception of reality, and, as Mrs. Eddy
says “it cannot destroy one iota of good”.

This is what it says to me, and I do like to ponder this statement
and work with it quite frequently trying to get a greater
understanding of more of what it entails.

  4. My husband was an artist. I recognize, from exercises he did, that the world drawing above is one continuous line. He often gave this exercise to his students. He said that if they focused on pieces rather than on the whole image the main gesture of the image was lost. The remedy is to hold in thought the whole object even as your are drawing the parts. What a wonderful metaphor this image is for holding our whole world in Oneness. In the beautiful quote Evan shared today, the idea of “One infinite, God GOOD…” stood out, It reminded me of this wonderful article – “The Uninterrupted Continuity of Good”. I hope I shared it correctly. Thank you dear Evan for another powerful blog. Isn’t it great that this passage is the theme of Annual Meeting this year?!

    1. Sharon, thank you for this link. I found the article very helpful.

Evan, thank you for always focusing us on the reality.

    2. Sharon thanks for the article, look forward to enjoying it later. And thanks for pointing out the image above is made with one continuous line. There was a similar one that Evan posted recently on SpiritView (April 8 -Seeing God in Control) with hands holding the earth, all one line.

Today’s topic of peace and oneness of God brought to mind:
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16;33)

I send Love and gratitude to Evan and to all who join here in loving friendship. We share and lift each other to higher awareness of God’s unchanging good How special is that!

  5. Thank you for sharing that wonderful passage from the Science and Health about God’s goodness wrapping around the world with Love. The article Sharon shared is so timely too! I am always grateful to read daily this blog! It lifts me up and guides my thoughts to go straight ahead in Truth.

  6. So true Evan. I am praying about this timely subject. “When” everyone has one God, all these things occur. But, when people have false gods or follow someone who serves false gods, there “seems” to be anything but harmony. Certainly the solution is for everyone to have one good God, Love and to not break the commandments. There is quite a bit of chemicalization going on as those false gods in thought are disproved and destroyed. If one were listening to God, it would be easy to discern the lies being feed to one. And easy to make a decision to not follow that line of thinking.
In reality, God is in control regardless of what anyone thinks or believes. They are simply punished by the belief of idolatry of false gods like ego, vanity, greed, fear and all the etceteras. God does not punish them but their belief in something other than Love being powerful does. God is available for all to listen to and know right now and always and I pray that everyone starts listening. In fact, it is natural to turn away from these shaky points of views to a solid foundation of Truth. Thank you for addressing this timely subject.

  7. Thank you for reminding us of this treasured quote from Mrs Eddy ,Evan. We are indeed ALL wrapped in the consciousness of Divine Love , peace and harmony eternally….a wonderful enduring thought to hold about everyone, even those who are not aware of their true reality at this time.
Thank you for the link to the article Sharon…will be reread much ….
‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall Be called the Sons of God’ Matt 5.

  8. “The government of divine Love is supreme. Love rules the universe, and it’s edict hath gone forth: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”, and “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Let us have the molecule of faith that removes mountains,– faith armed with the understanding of Love, as in divine Science, where right reigneth.” Mary Baker Eddy My 278

  9. Amen.
Mrs Eddy’s eloquent and powerful words of truth is prophesy and revelation. Powerful unity and sharing today. Thank you.

  10. Excellent just what was needed for my prayers for the world!
    Thank you feeling so blessed.
Thank you God, thankyou MBE, thank you Evan and all!

  11. I just read this article, “There Is No Reality in War” by James H. Vincent,
(Sentinel, January 27, 1940) and found if extremely helpful in praying
    for the world.

  12. What a reminder for today! Thank you for this message. Much good going on . The daily study is interesting and the resulting calm in my thinking makes it all worth the time invested.
