The difference between try and triumph
is just a little umph!

  1. Hi Evan! (BTW, really great article you wrote for the Journal this month! Thanks so much!!)

I needed to consider the importance of “a little umph,” after a church meeting today. I was not very lovingly rebuked for a goof-up I made. My feelings were hurt, pride rankled, I felt like quitting a position long held, I felt unappreciated, misunderstood, etc. And very disappointed in a fellow church member that should know the power of thought, and the need to always express oneself with love and kindness, and forgiveness. If this was done, I could have been so very humble and apologetic. As it was, I just felt … angry and hurt. I know we’ve probably all “been here.” But isn’t part of what church is about is that we members treat each other with love and respect and forgiveness, no matter what. It allows the healing to happen, quickly . As it is, it may be a long while until I can speak with her. And we co-chair an important committee!

Well, thanks for letting me vent. Now, to the umph
part: I am now considering how to handle my
state of thought, and read this blog. Yes, I can put some umph in my prayers and yield to the Fact of the one divine Mind as the only Mind. No mortal mind can pretend to be a power over me! I can forgive this member, because there is, in fact, nothing to forgive! She is God’s expression, only. Not God’s expression AND a faulty mortal!! As the Lesson this week points out: Choose Ye! We must choose God as the only power and presence, and not leave room for Baal and his tricks!

So, thanks! I feel better. Perhaps some others do, too!

    :<))
